At just a foot high and less than two feet wide out of the carton, this compressor was quite a bit smaller than we expected, so to be fair, we quickly lowered our expectations. The joke was on us, though, because this little powerhouse just doesnt quit, and we learned that you cant judge a compressor by its size. Emglos half-century in the compressor business is evident in this model, and with a couple of small exceptions (well get into that in a minute), we dont think anyone could make a finer piece of air power. Now, this may be a plus or a minus in your book, but we liked the fact that the compressor is factory set to power on at 100 psi an+d shut off at 120 psi, and the cycle time was under 15 seconds.) It has air aplenty for two nailers at once, and with that fast recovery, the job will get done in no time.
In balance, this is one of the best compressors weve seen for the size, power, ruggedness and incredible portability it offers. Heres to a great pairing of two great toolmakers.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

2 HP, 4 Gallon, Electric Single Tank Hand Carry Compressor, 4.
found in D55155's reviews: DeWalt D 55155 - I use my compressor for light work on my auto and boat. It runs my air tools very well. The compresser came with a defective copper air line, DeWalt shipped a new one and I installed it. I repaired the switch by properly tightening the screw around the gasket. A pleasure to use - Oh, and the clean ball-valve drain set-up is a dream after the previous brass screw type that had a tendancy to seize. No bad feelings about P-C products, the pancake compressor just gave up the ghost early and had to be replaced with a more capable unit - so far the Dewalt seems like a super piece.

Even for occasional home maintenance, air tools are more practical and less costly than expensive electric power tools with umpteen mechanical parts and exorbitantly priced batteries of all shapes and sizes. But before investing in smart air tools, you need a quality compressor. This popular 4-gallon twin stack aircompressor from Campbell Hausfeld is oil lubricated and built to last. Ideal for inflation, nailing, stapling and spraying jobs, this compressor also powers everything from sandblasters and spray guns to drills and die grinders in a matter of seconds. So, rather than investing in an expensive new electric tool set; save time and money with this 4-gallon compressor and Campbell Hausfeld's line of 70 high quality air tools. The initial cost of an air tool is significantly lower than its electrically powered counterpart, and the average tool life expectancy is longer, too. Plus, when powered by this 4-gallon compressor, air tools deliver more torque and higher revolutions-per-minute than electric tools for less downtime and greater productivity.
found in HL5502's reviews: incomplete package - As someone who is new to the Air tool game, I didn't want to spend alot of money seeing how I do not use air tools regularly but wanted to try them out.To get longer service life than oil free units, This compressor is an oil lubricated unit and yet it does not come with oil! I guess thats one way they can cut costs. It also does not come with a quick connect fitting at the output end, but rather has female threads that you screw an air hose into. I saw this compressor for 139. The manual is not very well written at all, so take your time and read it over a couple of times! When you get this compressor, you will have to go out and buy; 1 bottle of mobile one synthetic motor oil(10w30)for abot 5 dollars, a 1/4 inch fitting and quick connect(about 12 dollars). Now you are ready to plug in a hose and air tools.I am extremely happy with this compressor-it really isn't any noisier than other compressors in this price range-lets face it-compressors are a power tool and thus are loud!I did not find the noise that bad at all. My total investment to get this up and running was still less than 200 dollars which is not bad for an oil lubed compressor.
Kit also comes with a 25-foot airline kit with all fittings and teflon tape 1.5 hp, 5.8-gallon oil-less compressor with wheels for portability 1000 2-1/2-inch finish nails, tool oil, tool carrying case Combo pack includes a 2-1/2-inch 16-gauge finish nailer
found in CPACK200's reviews: Horrible directions for a novice, but good equipment - I'd imagine that many people buying this kit are new to air tools (since they need to buy a compressor too). The compressor directions were worse, probably because they were roughly translated from italian. (I can't believe I was actually considering predrilling and hammering finish nails by hand for my project!)
I wasn't really happy with the depth control on the nailer since there's no indicator (at least the compressor has a pressure guage). Finding the right depth is a matter of turning a hand screw and pure guessing how far you've turned it, and what the range of adjustment may be. I do wish the compressor was quieter, or started up slower (it scared the hell out of me when the pump automatically refilled the tank, even through my earplugs).
