found in MAC2400's reviews: Very Good Compressor - This compressor is everything that the reviews said. It is the perfect compressor for home use. It is some what limited on the amount of air you can use at one time. Very good unit for a single nail gun and other general home shop use. SOOOO QUIET! - I am a general contractor and framer. This compressor is amazing!! I've opperated many compressors over the years, and this is the quietest, most well built compressor I've seen. I wouldn't recommend it for two framing guns at once. AWESOME COMPRESSOR!!!!!!!!!. Superb compressor - Makita needs to fire their packing design person. - I am extremely happy with the compressor for general garage, woodworking, and around-the-house duties. My first unit was badly damaged by a loose air filter (with a thick metal bolt) that was just floating around in the box. Front panel smashed and gagues damaged. I returned it, second unit also damaged in exactly the same spot also by the same free-floating aircompressor. Guess what - dented in exactly the same place as the two I got. The other Reviews are Correct, this is a great compressor - This is a quality compressor.
The compressor is just as quiet as others report.
Why did I get this compressor? In sum, (1) I wanted a GOOD quality tool that was not Chineese junk, (2) I wanted at least 4 cfm for tools and (2) I did not want to spend a fortune. There seems to be several classes or levels of compressor in the lower price range. Unless you are getting a specialized mini-compressor just for a small brad gun, the $125-175 compressors are mostly junk: loud and rough. This Makita is in the next step up, with compressors in the $225 to 325 range. Most of this second tier are either made for just for job sites or are just bigger cheaply made compressors. The Dewalt is an excellent compressor, but you cannot use it next to you in an exclosed shop -- its too loud. It is a very well made little compressor.
The compressor seems to live up to its specs. I have easily run 3/8 and 1/2 inch impact wrenches, a brad gun and a finish nail gun, along with blow guns, etc. When I went to use a Snap-On 7200 3/8" air ratchet, the performance was just adequate.
I have not owned a compressor is many years. But for a serious homeowner that appreciates quality tools and needs a general purpose compressor, I believe I found the perfect compressor.

At just a foot high and less than two feet wide out of the carton, this compressor was quite a bit smaller than we expected, so to be fair, we quickly lowered our expectations. The joke was on us, though, because this little powerhouse just doesnt quit, and we learned that you cant judge a compressor by its size. Emglos half-century in the compressor business is evident in this model, and with a couple of small exceptions (well get into that in a minute), we dont think anyone could make a finer piece of air power. Now, this may be a plus or a minus in your book, but we liked the fact that the compressor is factory set to power on at 100 psi an+d shut off at 120 psi, and the cycle time was under 15 seconds.) It has air aplenty for two nailers at once, and with that fast recovery, the job will get done in no time. A little care will save you some pain.
In balance, this is one of the best compressors weve seen for the size, power, ruggedness and incredible portability it offers. Heres to a great pairing of two great toolmakers.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

2 HP, 4 Gallon, Electric Single Tank Hand Carry Compressor, 4.
found in D55155's reviews: Solid Performer. - I am a general contractor who needed a better compressor to do small framing jobs and finish jobs on site. We have used it for roofing and it does need nelp with two guns, but will run one no problem. Mine was a reconditioned unit and I have never experienced any problems and I use it, the larger tank does need to be drained regularly though, overall good compressor. Dewalt and Emglo make a complete package, great compressor! - I am a general contractor building mostly new construction housing and I specialize in finish trim work. Someone decided they needed my trim compressor more then I did so I had to purchase another one. I must admit I was not to broken harted about it though because I have had my eye on Dewalt's new compressor now for some time. The sleek design, the way it protects its gauges, and its 2 quick conect air ports kept calling me every time I saw this compressor. I was not disapointed!! The unit is a little heavy for a portable compressor at over 60 lbs. Inside a house a compressor's noise can seem to be greatly magnified but this unit seems almost quiet, it runs so smooth. I had a larger compressor for framing but this Dewalt compressor has done so well that I have sold my larger one and rely on just this one. It has a fast recovery time although in framing when more then 2 guns are being used it can get overworked a little. The unit really has no real flaws at all the air drain has a great little lever to drain the tank with, but it does blow out hard if you open it to quick and I am not convinced it drains all the condesation real well. You should always try to use as little extension cord as possible and as heavy a one, at least 12 or better. There is a little black breaker on the compressor unit which can be a little dificult to locate and reset, it would be nice if on a newer version Dewalt would move it to the front with the gauges and quick connects. It has triped several time on us if we try and run too many things at a time such as a miter saw, table saw, and the compressor, but for normal use the draw of this compressor seems fine even on a 15amp breaker. To sum it all up this is one really nice complete package compressor!! It is small enough for the little jobs yet tough enough for the more demanding jobs, within reason, remember it is only a 4 gallon, running at less the 15amp, compressor. With Dewalt and Emglo combine you will not go wrong buying this compressor, and unless you get a defective unit which happens with all products from time to time, you will have a compressor that should last a long time.

found in CFBN200A's description: Here they've packaged their hard-working 18-gauge brad nailer with its power source--a 15 amp, 120-volt, 6-gallon compressor driven by a 2-horsepower oil-free motor. Fill up the nailer with standard 18-gauge brads from 3/4 inch to 2 inches long, hook up, and you're ready to install baseboards, chair rails, moldings, even make quick work of those wooden craft items like country shelves and vegetable bins. The kit comes with quick connects, 25 feet of 150 psi air hose and thread sealing tape.
found in CFBN200A's reviews: Great DIY kit! - I bought this kit while working on general home remodeling and renovating and it has proven itself indispensible. Both the compressor and nailer have worked flawlessly. The compressor is lightweight, easily portable, and has plenty of capacity for my nailers to keep the duty cycle pretty low (read: it doesn't turn on very often when in use). My only complaint about the kit is that the compressor is a bit loud.

found in CPFC2TV3525VP's reviews: great choice for general purpose home use - The two-stage compressor means that it is quieter than a single-stage unit, and should mean better reliability as well.
I've used some fairly demanding air tools with it, such as air drills and die grinders. The motor comes on early and stays on under continuous air drill usage, but it manages to keep up.
One-year warranty through the Dewalt factory or an authorized service center Oil lubricated pump allows for long life Cast iron cylinder enhances pump life Dual soft start valves assist in cold weather start up 4.5 cfm
found in D55155R's reviews: disappointed - I am a general contractor and tradesman who has used DeWalt tools for many years. The compressor unit I just received had the manual, oil and dipstick in a separate package in the box with the compressor. I was able to get it replaced at no charge at my local service center but if I had depended on the wrong dipstick to gage the oil in the unit I would have burned up the compressor and as it says in the manual, you are not covered if you run your units low on oil.
One Year Warranty Convenient control panel has regulator, gauge, and two quick connect outlets Higher tank pressure provides more usable air per tank re-charge New high-pressure design keeps tank pressure between 110 and 135 PSI 3 HP induction motor delivers 7.7 SCFM at 40 PSI, 5.5 SCFM at 90 PSI
found in CPF23400S's reviews: Compact unit, poor packaging - my unit arrived with the plastic air intake filter housing broken.
Other than the poor packaging; the unit is easy to operate, stable, compact, and provides plenty of air for general household use. But as long as you are not working at top speed, it will keep up with general painting and nailing. Great General Purpose Portable Compressor - I bought this compressor to run nail guns, air sand and spray paint. It is also handy to limit the pressure to safe levels for your various air tools. It is not as loud as large upright compressors, but it does make a fair amount of noise, although not as much as I expected.
It will keep up with nailers and other "burst" applications without cycling too often. I use it with a Souix air sander and it does run longer when I am working. If you take on a tractor trailer, get a bigger compressor.
Overall, this is an outstanding unit with few limitations for the average user. Plenty of Power to Offer...but it needs plenty, too. - This is a nice tight little machine which should have plenty of power to run two hoses at one time, and the professional HVLP spray painting gun I plan to use with it in my small general contracting business, BUT, it will need the right power source. I tried the compressor on an undedicated 15 amp circuit, and it immediately blew the switch every time. I also learned (the hard way, of course) that if you are using the compressor with a 50' extension chord (with too high a guage) on a 20 amp circuit, the pump will not get enough electricity to pump air after cutting-in when the tank pressure drops to 110 psi (the specified cut-in pressure) - the pump will start pumping, but quickly stop and you'll hear the motor straining until it blows the 20 amp circuit, too. It's cheaper, my new Porter Cable friends say, to buy more air hose than the right gauge extention chord - Ah, such knowledge I'm gaining. Sadly, the compressor arrived with an air intake filter housing badly bent downward (done apparently at the factory, as the box from Amazon wasn't damaged), so I couldn't remove the air filter. AND, the drain valve (to drain water from the bottom of the tank) would not completely close allowing lots of air to excape from the tank. In my chats with an Amazon tool sales rep, and later with a Porter Cable tech rep (to help me unravel the compressor's electrical-needs mysteries), both Companies quickly and nicely insisted on sending me a new air intake filter housing and a new drain valve (I guess I'm getting two of each?) - no questions asked. The machine is fairly loud, but it only takes my pump about 6 seconds to refill the tanks from the 110 psi cut-in pressure to the specified 135 psi cut-out pressure. I figure the noise level goes hand-in-hand with the added power this compressor offers - power I think I need. Suggestions: the manufacturer needs to tighten quality controls inspection of the product prior to boxing & shipping, and the editorial reviewers need to "call a spade a spade" in write-ups on this tool's power needs.
