The new MAC2400 - Twin Stack aircompressor by Makita is blowing away the competition.3 amps to operate, a lower 1720 RPM rating and a heavy duty Intake Air Filter system like no other, its easy to see how this unit will out last and outperform everyone else.2CFM @ 90PSI and is equipped with a lever handled ball valve drain system to get rid of condensation build up in the tank . Large automotive style industrial air filter for increased air intake and greater efficiency. Lever handle ball valve - tank drain valve improves upon standard petcock design for easier maintenance.
found in MAC2400's reviews: I'll let you know when I get a chance to use it! - After reading 45 reviews, most of which described the unit arriving damaged in one way or another, it would have been wise on my part to find a source for this compressor where I could pick it up. My guess is, even if the replacement unit arrives O. Decent compressor if you can get one without damage - I researched portable compressors for months before deciding on the MAC2400. Even with weight I was quite pleased with the compressor but my buying experience was much less. My first compressor from Amazon had a broken plastic motor cover which wasn't caused by shipping damage. I sent it back and Amazon had a replacement back to me in 3-4 days, Quick!, but that compressor also was damaged. The air cleaner housing was thrown on top of the compressor and beat up the control panel and one gauge from bouncing around. I was told to contact Amazon and after a week of waiting on Amazon, I was told that they could not send part (it would void warranty if replaced) and they were not going to send a replacementcompressor. I packaged up the second compressor and sent back. I wasn't going to order another brand compressor from Amazon as I didn't want the hassle if damaged again. looking at Ridgid as I really didn't want a Dewalt or the Porter Cable pancake compressor which they carried. I bought a Ridgid model with a higher cfm rating, larger airtanks, wheels, handle and it came out of box without a scratch. After moving it around the house and up the stairs, I don't know how long I would have enjoyed carrying the MAC2400 or any other brand compressor that weighs 70-80lbs.
Overall the MAC2400 looked and sounded like a good compressor for the short time I had it but makes me wonder how well they are built, with so many problems between packaging and broken parts inside cartons not caused by shipping damage on the Mac700's and a few of these. If you are not in a hurry for a compressor and/or don't care about cosmetic condtion out of the box (if damaged) then Amazon is the place to buy with their best price. Not for Contractors - 2 cfm 3 hp 5 gallon tank unit it is twice the machine for around $ 50 dollars more, you wont be sorry! It can run two nail guns driving 3inch coated ring shank nails. Very pleased - This is my first aircompressor, and I just received it yesterday so can't vouch for long-term quality, but I just wanted folks to know that it has ZERO damage. The air filter was packaged in a heavy plastic baggie along with the oil and manual. The thin paper manual has a few indentations from the wingnut on the air filter pressing into it, but the compressor unit itself is showroom clean. I'm also impressed with how quickly the motor charges the tank. Lost a star for the tiny tanks - It is pretty quite for a compressor. Pumps up fast and empties its tanks just as fast! So if you just want "some air" for blowing out that carb you're rebuilding. My 3/8" air ratchet had it "flat" in no time. Makita if you're listening, please build something with a BIG TANK for us guys that don't have to walk around with it all day. Best in class - I think it's the best for the following: A) This compressor just purrs. B) Over-built compressor compared to tank size - so cycle times are very short - if using light-duty tools, it doesn't run much anyway. C) No leaks - holds its air pressure seemingly forever when turned off (not that you shouldn't release pressure when done using it). D) The air filter is a miniature version of an old-time car air filter. The glaring exception is the air filter hanging off the side - I can see this part's going to be replaced at some point when I throw it in a truck bed. In this case, the air filter is just thrown in loose inside the box - mine broke one of the gauge glasses. Perfect compressor - quiet & powerful - I needed a compressor to put up a fence, install mouldings and refinish my basement. Well, it's a compressor and they ARE heavy. Especially a high-quality compressor like this one. The thing's built like a tank and looks great.
Additional comments:
The finned discharge tubing on this thing is fantastic - if you've never had your hand seared like a steak after touching discharge tubing on a compressor, you haven't truly felt pain.
The tanks fill quickly enough, and the gauges are really nice quality. I can use the compressor in my basement shop and can barely hear it running on the main level.
If you're looking for a high-quality, oil-lube (don't know why anyone would go for a non-oil unit) compressor that will last for years, look no further.

found in T-100SP's reviews: thomas brand - I own the twin tank 4 gallon renegade model compressor(replacing much loved rolaircompressor). Anyone considering this compressor should not hesitate if specs match needs. I think that the 15 pounds or so lighter the T-100SP is than mine would make for a pretty desirable compressor.

First, the compressor: The unit blasts out an impressive 150 maximum psi for driving more nails than traditional 135 psi compressors. A 6-gallon tank lets you drive large quantities of nails on a single tank charge. Running on standard household current, this 120-volt electric compressor also cranks out 2.6 standard cubic feet per minute at 90 psi for quick compressor recovery time and faster nailing. Weighing just 34 pounds, the compressor is easy to transport from project to project. And, two quick-connect couplers let the compressor power two nail guns to at the same time. Olson

found in EC12's reviews: Shipping Problems - I was amazed how little packing/protection is provided in the box for the compressor. I opened the box and was rewared with a lot of little plastic pieces that once were the air filter assembly. Since there does not appear to be a way for replacement parts to be sent to me, I will return the compressor without use. A good little workhorse - Puts out enough air to keep two framing nailguns running at full speed.
I find that I am using the big shop compressor much less - it's just so easy to plug in the handy little Hitachi for everything. As the Hitachi uses an odd-sized thread for their gauges you have to either replace them with another (relatively expensive at $17 or so and weak plastic ) Hitachi gauge or replace the regulator and add a new gauge (costs a little more but most replacement regulators are better made than the original costs maybe $21 with a better gauge). Happy, but could be happier - The compressor is still fairly new and seems to provide excellent power for framing guns, finishing nailers, and hoppers. However, I am not incredibly impressed with this compressors ability to start. I realize during the cold winter mornings (not too cold in the San Francisco bay area), that some compressors require an empty tank to kick over, but this is getting a little ridiculous. On a 45 degree morning I don't even try to kick over the tank before making sure it is decompressed completely, and during the middle of the day I still have to, on a not-so-rare occasion, pull the pressure release valve. I have seen on another review that a Smart Start inlet filter can be purchased to cure this problem, but it's annoying that you need to buy new parts to cure problems on a new compressor.
I guess having only one complaint for a power tool isn't too bad, but I'm sure there's a better compressor out there. great quality, reasonable price - The other item is the brass stem out of the upper tank to the regulator; it positions the regulator in a location which is very susceptible to be knocked off. The positives: I've used it for over a year now, building two houses (both framing and finish guns), with little or no maintenance, the oil lubed compressor is fast. Excellent Compressor - The compressor is quiet, powerful, and reliable so far. I have looked at quite a few compressors and 95% of them have something hanging out waiting to be sheared off if impacted. I think it would be fairly simple for them to tuck the regulator assembly between the tank and pump to avoid possible damage but few manufacturers do so I didn't take any stars away for that. Great price, great compressor. I modified my compressor by bolting a single gang plastic electrical box to the leg under the regulator. The compressor power cord is spliced inside the box to a recepticle and a 25 foot 12ga cord that provides power to the recepticle for accessory power tools or extension cords, etc.
Efficient high pressure motor allows the compressor to be run with an extension cord due to the low amp draw of the compressor Oil free, maintenance free pump, for convenient use Efficient high pressure technology allows for longer pump and motor life 5.4 SCFM @ 90 PSI allows for quick compressor recovery time 200 PSI max pressure allows for longer air tool run time
