found in EC12's reviews: A DECENT LIGHT DUTY UNIT - I've a professional woodworker for 20+ years and have owned several small compressors. This unit however has so far proven to be a quiet and reasonably reliable for over 2 years. The list price of $600+ is a joke but wouldn't be all that far out of line if it didn't come with the flaws in the controls that turn up eventually in all light duty compressors in the $200-$300 price range. Using a light duty unit like this to feed tools like air sanders or paint guns would fry even larger, inexpensive, medium duty compressors after a realtively short time. Excellent Value - Compact & NOT too noisy! - I initially bought one of those oil-less 'Pancake' type compressors. It is quiet, does not vibrate and has adequate power for routine use. Excellent Compressor - The compressor is quiet, powerful, and reliable so far. I have looked at quite a few compressors and 95% of them have something hanging out waiting to be sheared off if impacted. I think it would be fairly simple for them to tuck the regulator assembly between the tank and pump to avoid possible damage but few manufacturers do so I didn't take any stars away for that. Happy, but could be happier - The compressor is still fairly new and seems to provide excellent power for framing guns, finishing nailers, and hoppers. However, I am not incredibly impressed with this compressors ability to start. I realize during the cold winter mornings (not too cold in the San Francisco bay area), that some compressors require an empty tank to kick over, but this is getting a little ridiculous. Good to go - It delivers plenty of air for nailers air wrenchs and filling tires. I wouldn't use it for painting but it was about the same price as the Coleman compressors. Good price and quality! - I did alot of checking on compressors and everyone really liked the hitachi. Good Compressor - This compressor is surprisingly quiet and it feels very sturdy. Get It. - What can I say but that I love it? It's quiet enough to run indoors if need be. Hitachi's Dependable Compressor - The Hitachi is not only reliable, but, unlike many compressors, it truly works on 15 amps. Compressor great, regulator bad - It has a quality oil lubricated motor and is competitively priced with "oil-less" compressors of similar size and capacity. It works great with my various small air tools (palm nailer, impact wrench, etc).

found in C3551's reviews: Outstanding compressor - After using and wearing out several other compressors over the years, I have learned a thing or two about quality. While I use a couple of the DeWalt compressors in my business and am pleased, this PC is my new baby. Very quiet. The oiled units are quieter and have 3-4 times the lifespan of their oil free brothers. The Porter-Cable C3551 is a very nice compressor - I have a few compressors already - but they are too big and bulky to move around and my previous smaller 10 gallon compressor is getting a bit rough around the edges. It fills quick, cycles infrequently, and is fairly quiet.
I think this is one of the best small compressors out there. Was pleased the second time - Very quiet, nice regulator, works well. Good idea, but a bit more durabilty would be nice - I bought it because I was tired of lugging around other compressors that didn't have wheels. The rolling design of this compressor is very good because it can easily go up and down stairs as well as over typical construction site obstacles.
I work on job sites that have ancient compressors that continue to function flawlessly (but they're really heavy to move around), so I'm a bit worried by the problems I've noticed in only 2 years of use. It also cannot supply as much air as the oil-free version. A trim subcontractor I know has the oil-free version and he has to rebuild his compressor annually with a $40 repair kit, so oil free isn't entirely without issues. Instead, I replaced the whole unit with a used Dewalt/Emglo D55570 which is quieter, more powerful (I can use it to run an angled die grinder that I use to cope wood), and all around much nicer. Excellent Compressor for Framing or Finish Work - A bit slow running an airfile. Relatively quiet versus my Emglo 2hp,but it does have a nasty vibration that could be reduced with deadening grommets and a bit more engineering. Everything it promises and more.......... - All I can say is there are a LOT of portable aircompressors out there and a lot of them are junk. Porter Cable lacks quality control - After following the breaking procedure, I noticed that the regulator wouldn't let out any air. (Also, the compressor being so quiet won me over and I was willing to overlook few minor problems in order to keep it.

found in D55151BN's description: vinyl air hose, fittings and pipe joint tape. A tool-free, 360 degree adjustable exhaust setting helps to channel air exhaust away from the user, creating a safe and comfortable working environment.
found in D55151BN's reviews: Slow starting motor - Once running it a real jewel and fairly quiet. Good Compressor/Nailer combo -
I had read that oil-lubed compressors were quieter and lasted longer, so I was looking for an oil-lubed motor in particular. It is a bit louder than I had expected, but quieter than my Dad's PC pancake. I'm not sure what it is yet, but it doesn't seem to affect the operation of the unit, and I didn't want to send it back for repairs, since I have a bit of a deadline on some of my jobs. It seems fairly well made, and all the components are pretty easy to get to if repairs are needed for some reason. At the time I bought it, Amazon was running a very nice $75 off $300 promotion, and also offering a free air hose, so I feel that I got a great deal on a very good combo.

0 Extra-flexible 3' hose with universal locking adapter Pressure-tested tank holds compressed air for months Great for inflating car, truck and bike tires, sporting equipment and other recreational equipment in remote areas where a power source is not available
found in KT1100's description: 11 Gallon Air Carry Tank.
Product Description Airtight tank holds compressed air for months Models include: Air shut-off gage.
found in KT1100's reviews: Works as advertised - I've had one of these Campbell Hausfeld tanks for many years, to carry compressed air outside to work on lawn equipment.
Pros:
- For low air-volume applications, or when you need decent pressure for a short while, it works just fine. It's purpose is to have compressed air on a small job (or tire-filling), where there is no electricity.
Cons:
- After filling the tank (125 psi to 175 psi, depending on your air compressor), pressure will quickly drop below 80 psi once you start using it. So, this tank is only practical for air tool use of very short duration - e., an air ratchet wrench to remove a handful of bolts/nuts. Air tools just don't work [well] with insufficient pressure. In fact, with 11 gallons of pressurized air, this tank is only useful for small air-volume applications, regardless of pressure needed.
With no electricity nearby, options include: this tank, a long extension cord, or a long air hose. Otherwise, any air compressor would be a better choice, since air volume at pressure, will be unlimited. (Of course, the cheapest tank aircompressors cost around $100.

4 HP, 4 Gallon, Gas Twin Stack Compressor, High Volume Air Output 4.5 CFM @ 100 PSI, Portable Air Power Honda 4 HP Gas, Automatic Throttle Idle Control, Direct Drive Pump For Improved Portability, Oil Lubricated Improved Compressor Life.
found in D55250's reviews: Incredible cfm for weight! - It is more portable than the wheelbarrow compressors and can be put in the back of a pickup truck (unit is no feather weight though --- about 70 lbs!) This compressor has the best of all features--- reliable Honda engine, reliable Emglo compressor, overbuilt protective frame and quality gauges and quick connects make this an outstanding compressor. Most compressors capable of running two frame nailers draw enough power that it will constantly trip the the breaker on a temporary service pole unless run on 240 volts. This machine is meant to turn out a much more substantial amount of air!
The only downside to this compressor is the price and its weight. That is a lot of money to shell over for a machine that does nothing more than compress air! But, then again, would you really be reading this if all you needed was an average duty Lowe's variety compressor? And if you have a pickup, leave the unit in the back and let it run.

found in CWC200ST's reviews: Compressor head is OK but the extra parts are of low quality - I bought one of these compressors a couple of months ago after doing carefull research and actually going to a repair facility here in AZ that handles warranty repairs for a variety of brands. Shortly after purchasing the unit one of the Quick Disconnects on the compressor will not seal itself after the hose is taken off and will merily leak all the air out in about one minute, I had to replace that so I could use the machine. For about the last five hours of use I started to notice that if left pressurized overnight the air was gone in the morning upon closer inspection I could hear a faint hiss comming from somewhere behind the regulator It was not much just enough to leak and turn the machine on about every 15 minutes even if I did not use air. Yesterday the manual regulator prooved to be the culprit as when I started the compressor for the first time it would not hold air at all. I put my head next to it to listen for the noise of air escaping and sure enough there was a faint hisssss. While I was trying to figure out where the noise is caming from The back of the manual regulator popped loose again suddenly letting all the air escape in an instant startling me and prompting my wife to ask from the kitchen some ways away: "did you do that on purpose?" Well NO.

8 Gallon, 15A Cast Iron Air Compressor, Oil Lube Pump With 2.
found in HL5501's reviews: Sturdy, portable, cheap oil-lubricated compressor... But noisy! -
Let me start by saying that I can't live without an air compressor. Those of you who don't have one have no idea how much you'll use it and what an integral part of any household project or repair it will become when you finally have one. This thing lasted about 13 years with very regular use with a few repairs over the years. Portability and reliability are important factors in order to assist with the reconstruction efforts of the community once the repairs to my home are complete., making them very difficult to get in and out of your truck/car by yourself, let alone getting them up a flight of stairs." The other thing that you will run into is that it does not come with a coupler to connect an air hose to. Although this is very common for air tools not to come with the required fittings to connect it to a hose, there is one difference here. I have never seen a quick-disconnect air hose connector (the hose end that has the sleeve to release the connection) with male threads on it. If you are looking into this compressor because of the reduced noise level that oil-lubed compressors are known for, then you will be disappointed.
