found in MAC700's reviews: Quiet, as far as compressors go. - The Low RPMs are what keeps it quiet(er) compared to similar compressors and that's what I needed for working in the closed quarters of a basement. Reviewer from Arizona - Comparing it to other light weight/low capacity compressors I had before the engine noise is not that bad. For instance the air filter is place in an aluminum container whereas most other small compressors use plastic containers instead which can easily break off. Great little compressor - I chose this model over the very popular oil-free pancake compressors mainly for it's compact size and low noise level.
The unit is compact, but much heavier duty than similar Cr*ftman compressors I saw at Sears. An Airbrushing Powerhouse -
I use it to power airbrushes along with an added-on airbrush regulator/gauge/moisture trap. This is exactly what I wanted for airbrushing. It has a much longer lifespan than "airbrush compressors". The airbrushes work consistently all throughout the refill phase. This is the muscle car of airbrush compressors even though it was made in Taiwan. 5 to 10 minutes of airbrushing in silence, and when it comes on it does have some volume, but it is so much less noise than an oilless. great machine - during my lifetime ( i'm 77 years ) I have owned several compressors and this quiet machine has performed the best of any. Great compressor for my CD Eraser operation, bearable noise level - I bought a $300 DeWalt compressor and it was very loud. I have a blister packaging machine in the garage that requires compressed air to operate the heat sealing plate. Quiet, Solid, Well Made - I was thinking I may have to buy two compressors, most portable units were too loud for the shop. It had good air flow.3 CFM is higher than many of the 75-pound twin stack compressors I saw. To reduce cycling in the shop, I attached my 5-gallon air tank (the kind you use for putting air in a flat tire) to the tank side of the regulator with a T and snap coupler.

The new MAC2400 - Twin Stack air compressor by Makita is blowing away the competition.3 amps to operate, a lower 1720 RPM rating and a heavy duty Intake Air Filter system like no other, its easy to see how this unit will out last and outperform everyone else. Large automotive style industrial air filter for increased air intake and greater efficiency.
found in MAC2400's reviews: The other Reviews are Correct, this is a great compressor - Unless you are getting a specialized mini-compressor just for a small brad gun, the $125-175 compressors are mostly junk: loud and rough. This Makita is in the next step up, with compressors in the $225 to 325 range. There are some Dewalt Emglo and others I looked at in this range. Most of this second tier are either made for just for job sites or are just bigger cheaply made compressors.
I chose the Makita over the Dewalt for one reason: quiet. The Dewalt is an excellent compressor, but you cannot use it next to you in an exclosed shop -- its too loud. When I went to use a Snap-On 7200 3/8" air ratchet, the performance was just adequate. TO HEAVY - I sent it back and recieved the Dewalt D55155 compressor and am very pleaded with it. RAD DUDE 1 - A close friend of mine has a comparable Dewalt unit, and both of us have noticed that the Makita is substantially quieter, which is very important in small enclosed work area such as mine. Decent compressor if you can get one without damage - I researched portable compressors for months before deciding on the MAC2400. The air cleaner housing was thrown on top of the compressor and beat up the control panel and one gauge from bouncing around. looking at Ridgid as I really didn't want a Dewalt or the Porter Cable pancake compressor which they carried. I bought a Ridgid model with a higher cfm rating, larger air tanks, wheels, handle and it came out of box without a scratch. After moving it around the house and up the stairs, I don't know how long I would have enjoyed carrying the MAC2400 or any other brand compressor that weighs 70-80lbs. Makita MAC2400 - Its heavy but so are all the other compressors in its class. It's a sweet piece - Having used various compressors in the past from cheap chinese brands to high end models this unit ranks right up there with the better ones. Great little compressor - com about 7-8 months ago and I was replacing a 2 gallon air compressor so this was definitely a step up. MAC2400 is quiet in comparison to some other compressors but it's still pretty noisy. Compressor great, but has a couple of issues - It _is_ quiet, as far as compressors go. SOOOO QUIET! - This compressor is amazing!! I've opperated many compressors over the years, and this is the quietest, most well built compressor I've seen. Excellent compressor - It is heavy, but so are all of the other compressors in its class. It is also an easy 2 handed carry: By placing each hand on the sides of the tubular frame (not the top where the rubber grip is) I can safely carry this thing up and down stairs. Great luggable compressor - The air cleaner was loose in the package (Makita, you really need to put some tape or something on that!) but there was no damage or marks on the compressor.
Con's ~ A little heavier than some other compressors of this capacity, but that is because of the extra armor. ~ Air cleaner is in a slighly precarious spot.

found in PC0947's reviews: This contractor is very pleased... with the compressor - I own several portable compressors, but hate to lug them around. On bigger jobs I still use one of my heavy duty compressors. compressor try's hard but comes up a bit short - In my case it was the 1/4" copper tubing which brings the air to the tank that failed. I have fixed it with some liquid steel, since I'm on a job with it, I'm hoping the repair lasts till I have time to replace to tubing. I have used this to build two large bookcase and cabinet projects so far, and in doing so I have learned the compressors limitations. This won't take the place of more powerful compressors, but it is great for carrying to and from a job. Very Satisfied - I live in an apartment, and I agree with others who have found the noise level lower than other compressors, a blessing in that environment.
Not having any experience with air tools, yet knowing it was the way to go to install casing and baseboard in my kitchen remodel, I agonized over whether to get a brad or finish nailer.

Having the ability to remove the console gives the user the opportunity to remote air regulation and gain higher air pressure closer to the job site. Air delivery at 40 PSI: 7. found in C3151's reviews: very good compressor - Sometimes we use it on the jobsite, sometimes we use the comprable DeWalt that the guy I work with has- depends on who gets there first. I definitly find it to be better than its DeWalt counterpart and the older twin stack Emglow a guy who used to work with us had. Wow I am impressed - I have owned quite a few compressors thru the years. From a homeowner - The manual says 15 Amps, but its more like a hair above that. The copper one that pumps the air into the reservoir. I made the mistake of buying one of the pancake style compressors and found it a little weak for doing the basement framing.

found in MAC5200's reviews: POOR PERFORMER PERIOD! - I have been a carpenter for 15 years and have used alot of different compressors. good performer, but - And the Yamaha runs a portable DeWalt table saw, jet 1200cfm dust collector and a chop saw just fine (not all at the same time!)
So, while it is not perfect, it is a good performer and I'm very satisfied with the comressor at the cost. Good specs for the price range - 8 amp draw, collapsible cart, oil lubed pump, good air filter and ball valve drain. Did not find many other compressors in this price range with those specs and did not want to pay $600+ for a monster.
On arrival the box had major rips and crushed areas fairly typical of my experiences of UPS shipment with heavy items.

found in C3551's reviews: Mine came damaged - It looks like I'm going to go with the Dewalt D55155 instead or the Makita Hotdog since I want an oil lube compressor. Assiming I get the Dewalt, Black and Decker still wins since they own Porter Cable and Dewalt. From what I've seen, the Dewalt packaging is much better so I think shipping it will be ok. Outstanding compressor - After using and wearing out several other compressors over the years, I have learned a thing or two about quality. While I use a couple of the DeWaltcompressors in my business and am pleased, this PC is my new baby. The Porter-Cable C3551 is a very nice compressor - I have a few compressors already - but they are too big and bulky to move around and my previous smaller 10 gallon compressor is getting a bit rough around the edges. It fills quick, cycles infrequently, and is fairly quiet.
I think this is one of the best small compressors out there. For me it came down to the DEWALT D55155 or this compressor. Performs to expectations - I purchased the porter cable model C3551 after considering the Dewalt suitcase carry model. Although the Dewalt weighed 20 pounds less, I liked the Porter Cable model that rolls. I also had reservations about the number of Dewalt suitcase models being sold as referbished. Good idea, but a bit more durabilty would be nice - I bought it because I was tired of lugging around other compressors that didn't have wheels. The rolling design of this compressor is very good because it can easily go up and down stairs as well as over typical construction site obstacles.
I work on job sites that have ancient compressors that continue to function flawlessly (but they're really heavy to move around), so I'm a bit worried by the problems I've noticed in only 2 years of use. It also cannot supply as much air as the oil-free version. A trim subcontractor I know has the oil-free version and he has to rebuild his compressor annually with a $40 repair kit, so oil free isn't entirely without issues. Instead, I replaced the whole unit with a used Dewalt/Emglo D55570 which is quieter, more powerful (I can use it to run an angled die grinder that I use to cope wood), and all around much nicer. Everything it promises and more.......... - All I can say is there are a LOT of portable aircompressors out there and a lot of them are junk.
0 Extra-flexible 3' hose with universal locking adapter Pressure-tested tank holds compressed air for months Great for inflating car, truck and bike tires, sporting equipment and other recreational equipment in remote areas where a power source is not available
found in KT1100's description: 11 Gallon Air Carry Tank.
Product Description Airtight tank holds compressed air for months Models include: Air shut-off gage.
found in KT1100's reviews: Works as advertised - I've had one of these Campbell Hausfeld tanks for many years, to carry compressed air outside to work on lawn equipment.
Pros:
- For low air-volume applications, or when you need decent pressure for a short while, it works just fine. It's purpose is to have compressed air on a small job (or tire-filling), where there is no electricity.
Cons:
- After filling the tank (125 psi to 175 psi, depending on your air compressor), pressure will quickly drop below 80 psi once you start using it. So, this tank is only practical for air tool use of very short duration - e., an air ratchet wrench to remove a handful of bolts/nuts. Air tools just don't work [well] with insufficient pressure. In fact, with 11 gallons of pressurized air, this tank is only useful for small air-volume applications, regardless of pressure needed.
With no electricity nearby, options include: this tank, a long extension cord, or a long air hose. Otherwise, any air compressor would be a better choice, since air volume at pressure, will be unlimited. (Of course, the cheapest tank aircompressors cost around $100.

found in CWC200ST's reviews: Compressor head is OK but the extra parts are of low quality - I bought one of these compressors a couple of months ago after doing carefull research and actually going to a repair facility here in AZ that handles warranty repairs for a variety of brands. Shortly after purchasing the unit one of the Quick Disconnects on the compressor will not seal itself after the hose is taken off and will merily leak all the air out in about one minute, I had to replace that so I could use the machine. For about the last five hours of use I started to notice that if left pressurized overnight the air was gone in the morning upon closer inspection I could hear a faint hiss comming from somewhere behind the regulator It was not much just enough to leak and turn the machine on about every 15 minutes even if I did not use air. Yesterday the manual regulator prooved to be the culprit as when I started the compressor for the first time it would not hold air at all. I put my head next to it to listen for the noise of air escaping and sure enough there was a faint hisssss. While I was trying to figure out where the noise is caming from The back of the manual regulator popped loose again suddenly letting all the air escape in an instant startling me and prompting my wife to ask from the kitchen some ways away: "did you do that on purpose?" Well NO.
