found in D55155R's reviews: disappointed - The compressor unit I just received had the manual, oil and dipstick in a separate package in the box with the compressor. I was able to get it replaced at no charge at my local service center but if I had depended on the wrong dipstick to gage the oil in the unit I would have burned up the compressor and as it says in the manual, you are not covered if you run your units low on oil.

found in 852-1840's reviews: Doesn't hold a charge! - The manual said, if the light was amber, wait 15 mins and press a button on the unit that would reveal the charging level.

found in MAC2200's reviews: Only minor criticisms - I bought this compressor for some fairly goofy reasons. I wanted a compressor with a cage, oil-less, side stacked tanks, and preferably some sort of lined cylinders. The last reason was because the Craftsmancompressor that I had ( 220v 6hp/33gal ) the tank walls surface rusted and the air/water separator ( thank goodness I had one ) would eventually turn rusty red. The Makita is not all that light, but it is pretty well balanced, and compared to my Craftsman ( which isnt really fair because of the motor size ) it is much more quiet, this unit is nicely finished and recovers very quickly - usually runs about 10 seconds after I realize it is running again.
Baja style metal gauge guards protect gauges from job site damage Innovative integrated control panel with dual air outlets for the ultimate in user convenience Full-roll cage and patented skid plate protection for extreme job site durability Oil lubricated pump with cast iron lined cylinder for long life Powerful high performance 2.0 HP induction motor for fast pump up and recovery times
found in CAP2045ST-OL's reviews: Oil ? - I have had this compressor for a couple of years now, never had a problem with it so far. I would say it's not exactly the lightest portable compressor out there, and most of the time I wish it had wheels. I have another larger more stationary compressor that is a different brand that gets used more out in the main shop. There are a few minor flaws that could be fixed relatively easily with this compressor. One starting with the OPERATION and MAINTENANCE MANUAL. The air filter sticks out of the cage a little too far, looks like it's prone to bumps. And last but not least, the control panel, nice easy access and readability, and I like the dual air outlets, but they stick out of the roll cage after you install a pair of female couplers.
One Year Warranty Supports use of all brad and finish nailers and moderate use of framing and roofing nailers High-flow regulator allows more work at higher pressures 3 hp induction motor for quieter operation High-pressure technology provides more usable air for longer run time
found in CPF23400P's reviews: Maybe a good compressor, but beware of shipping - I ordered my P-C 3HP/4GAL compressor from Amazon, and their tool supplier, Tool Crib, shipped the unit to me via UPS. When I unpacked the compressor there was a broken piece of plastic in the bottom of the box. After reading the Owner's Manual and starting the break-in procedure I realized the plastic piece was the on/off switch! Using plastic for such a high-use piece like the on/off switch is a very poor design.
I took the compressor to the local Porter-Cable service center and they tell me the boxes the P-C compressors come in are NOT designed to handle the rigorous treatment of UPS shipping. The compressor is very heavy and the support inside the box is just flimsy cardboard, so the unit will shift alot during UPS shipment.
Be advised about this shipping problem with this compressor.

found in C3550's reviews: Great product, check for needed accessories - My one complaint is that the manual is not very helpful for those of us who have not used air tools before. It's like getting a toy without the batteries, if you do not have all the required atachments when the compressor arrives.
One Year Warranty Convenient control panel has regulator, gauge, and two quick connect outlets Higher tank pressure provides more usable air per tank re-charge New high-pressure design keeps tank pressure between 110 and 135 PSI 3 HP induction motor delivers 7.7 SCFM at 40 PSI, 5.5 SCFM at 90 PSI
found in CPF23400S's reviews: Great little aircompressor - This aircompressor is great! This unit is fairly quiet, compact, light enough to be toted around if needed, no oil needed and very powerful. This unit replaced a 12 year old 15 gallons, 2 hp, craftsman rolling aircompressor and all I can say is that I wish I purchased this unit sooner. It runs quieter and is definitely more powerful then the craftsman. When comparing the 2 units the Porter Cable is definitely stronger, the only difference being that when you are running any tools the compressor is running almost non stop compared to a unit with a larger tank that does not have to refill as fast. I consider this a plus though, because I always drain the tank after each use and it does not take as long to release all the air. At this price range there are many choices out there for anyone looking for a compact aircompressor but when you start to compare CFM ratings @ 90 PSI this one has the highest ratings. Frustrated with the technical assistance - I received my compressor and unpack it. So, I took the manual to see if they have some instructions about this kind of problem. The first thing I've read on the manual was: "DO NOT RETURN THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT TO THE RETAILER". I went there with the compressor and they took it and said to leave it there for one day, and on the next day they should call me to pick it up. Ohhh! Come on!!! I can't believe that! The most common and cheap part of a compressor they don't have in stock!? Is that kind of technical assistance we have from Porter Cable when we just buy a brand new compressor and need it working??? I think I should send it back and bought another from another company, because, now, I'm just waiting and I can't do my job. Heavy Duty versatility - First off I am a homeowner, not a contractor and have been using this compressor in my house to do renovation trim work for over two years. It is a fantastic compressor for my purposes. I run one in to my garage for airing my tires, and one in the shop for projects. Yes you do need to break the machine in but that is all in the owner's manual. When I move the compressor in to a room I am renovating, the two outlets also let me have two tools going at the same time, i. I will tell you it is LOUD but so are all compressors in this class, and this one is not as loud as my last old Campbell-Hausfeld. So if you are planning on moving your compressor around a lot, this is the WRONG compressor for you. But if you want a relatively stationary compressor with greater than ordinary capabilities, you may agree this is the ticket. Don't know yet - I spoke with the owner of the company, Kim Allen, and he said that I would need to have it repaired under the warranty. After several calls to the toll-free number in the manual to the factory, I was put in touch with a repair facility an hour away and was told they don't stock the part but could order it and get it back to me in a few days. Hopefully, PC will come though without me spending four round trip hours and a week without a compressor.
One-year warranty Provides 8.6 SCFM at 40 PSI and 6.8 SCFM at 90 PSI High-flow regulator for more efficient operation of pneumatic tools Tank pressure is maintained between 110 and 135 PSI for more usable air High-pressure technology provides the equivalent of a 32-gallon air supply
found in CPL6025's reviews: Great Compressor!! - I use this compressor in a wood shop and it provides enough air pressure for all my needs. The output pressure valve is convenient and easy to use so you don't have to spend a lot of time trying to set the proper air pressure for the tool you are using. All in all, this is a great compressor that can handle a large variety of jobs. Be sure to read manual before operating the machine it offers very good advice that should be followed.
One-year warranty Provides 8.3 SCFM at 40 PSI and 5.8 SCFM at 90 PSI High-flow regulator for more efficient operation of pneumatic tools Tank pressure is maintained between 110 and 135 PSI for more usable air High-pressure technology provides the equivalent of a 32-gallon air supply
found in CPF6025VP's reviews: Last Porter Cable Tool I Purchase - Had a similar Craftsman that lasted me about 8 yrs and just broke. So, I ended up driving to the nearest town today to buy a new compressor of a different brand. What do I expect you might ask? I expect them to let me take the brand new thing to any near by place that can fix it and have the bill sent to them! I have purchased a lot of Porter Cable tools while building this house but that compressor was the last one!. Some problems, poor service policy, impressive specs -
Be warned, the Porter Cable service policy as stated in the manual is essentially: Don't return a defective unit to the retailer. You pay the shipping(not cheap on a 130 pound compressor).
One year warranty/30 day performance certification 8.3 scfm at 40 psi, 6.1 scfm at 90 psi Two gallon tanks provide four gallons of air supply Oil-free design-no spillage or work contamination 15 amp, 2 hp induction motor starts and runs on household current
found in CF2400's reviews: A terrific value - The instruction manual is well thought out and very understandable. I have had no problems increasing the length of air hose, it keeps up no matter what. I cannot testify to it's capacity as a commercial unit, but if you need a dependable, moderate use compressor, this is the one.
