found in 852-1840's reviews:
Does what it was made to do - No where in the description does it say it's a gas-powered generator, and these people are belittling a product that they bought because they made a mistake by not researching what the product was and because they don't seem to know the difference between a portable power-pack and a real generator.

Now on to the product itself. They put a small compressor on it and it works fine for emergencies, but it's not meant to inflate tires all the time like a Campbell-Hausfield 10-hp dual-stage compressor with 50-gallon tank, it's an emergency convenience, and that's the point that should be remembered. If you want to run your TV, air-conditioner, hot-water heater, well pump, washer/dryer, dishwasher, home theater system, or refridgerator, then buy a gasoline powered generator instead.

Not Happy With Item - I purchased 2 of these Xantrex compressors. What a joke!! The compressor started to make a horrible noise about 2 minutes into the tire inflation and never worked again. Well, I had the "spare" compressor, but the same thing happened to it. I am very disappointed with the product and more disappointed in the "support", which was just as useless as the item.
I use it all the time! - This product is great! I have used it now for over 6 months and have been very impressed. I used the air compressor function to re-inflate it. It takes a long time to inflate tires, compared to those 50 cent air/water machines at the gas stations, but it gets the job done and I can take it with me.

found in CPACK200's reviews:
bostich 16 gauge finish nailer - As a novice I could not understand how to use the product. I went to my local home improvement store they showed me how to load the nailer and now I am having to visit with them again on how to use the air compressor. I thought that the compressor instructions were going to be better, I was wrong. So far, that is my complaint but from what I have read this product is really a good piece of equipment for a diy person.
Exactly what I expected (pretty much)... - I decided on the Bostitch Finish Nailer because of the Stanley Tools reputation, and the recommendation of two friends that use Bostitch air tools on almost a daily basis." The plastic motor housing on the compressor was busted when the package arrived-- looking at some of the other reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem. This is my first air tool, so I was a little disappointed in the instructions/documentation; once I pulled everything out of the box and took a little time to figure things out (which wasn't that difficult), I was shooting nails within ten minutes. may be assuming some level of "air tool knowledge" for anyone purchasing their product.) Overall though, I'm thrilled with the design and functionality of the compressor and the nailer.

excellent product -
Excellent Value and Quality - The compressor package truly makes it a great value. The compressor is very efficient, to the point that I was surprised it did not run more often. It is fairly quiet (as compressors go), and is light enough and is easy to carry and move around.

The only advice I would offer is to NOT buy the B&C nails that are recommended with this product.
Best Tool I Own Hands Down! - This combo pack is ideal! I had never owned a Porter Cable product until my father gave this to me as a Christmas gift. I plan on replacing all of the crown molding utilizing my Porter Cable Finish Nailer and Pancake Compressor combo and my DeWalt 12" Combo miter Saw.

3 hp induction motor for quieter operation
High-pressure technology provides more usable air for longer run time

found in CPF23400P's reviews:
Poor Engineering - Air will leak from the threads of the nipple (as was the case for me) or worse. Pancake compressors due to their top heavy nature can and do rollover, and if this unit rolls onto the gauge side, sooner or later your going to have a major problem. I discovered this design flaw when I plugged my brand new compressor in and a rush of air shot out where the gauge nipple screws to the tank. The compressor was improperly packaged. There was no extra packing foam or otherwise to prevent the compressor from banging side ways. poor product due to poor engineering.

found in C3550's reviews:
Great product, check for needed accessories - My one complaint is that the manual is not very helpful for those of us who have not used air tools before. It's like getting a toy without the batteries, if you do not have all the required atachments when the compressor arrives.

moter is a bust ! - I thought that I had finally found the perfect compressor for a trim carpenter. Here was a light compressor from a company that I thought sold only quality products. It has a small footprint and is very light and it delivers a decent amount of air. The service tech informed me that Makita buys the moter for this unit from another company, and it is junk! So it cost me $60 for labor to fix a 3 month old compressor. He suggested the same fix as the counter top unit for the next repair. Makita should pull this unit from their product line.

found in CPF23400S's reviews:
A powerful ,compact compressor/reasonably priced!!! - I purchased this compressor for my crew of six men after I read the other reviews on the tool crib website. I am very impressed with the capabilities of this lightweight/powerful and relatively inexpensive compressor. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a powerful, compact and one man transportable compressor.
Frustrated with the technical assistance -
I received my compressor and unpack it.
The first thing I've read on the manual was: "DO NOT RETURN THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT TO THE RETAILER". I went there with the compressor and they took it and said to leave it there for one day, and on the next day they should call me to pick it up. Ohhh! Come on!!!
I can't believe that! The most common and cheap part of a compressor they don't have in stock!?
Is that kind of technical assistance we have from Porter Cable when we just buy a brand new compressor and need it working???
I think I should send it back and bought another from another company, because, now, I'm just waiting and I can't do my job.

Plenty of Power to Offer...but it needs plenty, too. - I tried the compressor on an
undedicated 15 amp circuit, and it immediately blew the switch every
time.
I also learned (the hard way, of course) that if you are using the
compressor with a 50' extension chord (with too high a guage) on a 20
amp circuit, the pump will not get enough electricity to pump air
after cutting-in when the tank pressure drops to 110 psi (the
specified cut-in pressure) - the pump will start pumping, but quickly
stop and you'll hear the motor straining until it blows the 20 amp
circuit, too. It's
cheaper, my new Porter Cable friends say, to buy more air hose than
the right gauge extention chord - Ah, such knowledge I'm gaining.
Sadly, the compressor arrived with an air intake filter housing badly
bent downward (done apparently at the factory, as the box from Amazon
wasn't damaged), so I couldn't remove the air filter. AND, the drain
valve (to drain water from the bottom of the tank) would not
completely close allowing lots of air to excape from the tank. In my
chats with an Amazon tool sales rep, and later with a Porter Cable
tech rep (to help me unravel the compressor's electrical-needs
mysteries), both Companies quickly and nicely insisted on sending me a
new air intake filter housing and a new drain valve (I guess I'm
getting two of each?) - no questions asked. The machine is fairly
loud, but it only takes my pump about 6 seconds to refill the tanks
from the 110 psi cut-in pressure to the specified 135 psi cut-out
pressure. I figure the noise level goes hand-in-hand with the added
power this compressor offers - power I think I need. Suggestions: the
manufacturer needs to tighten quality controls inspection of the
product prior to boxing & shipping, and the editorial reviewers
need to "call a spade a spade" in write-ups on this tool's
power needs.

Excellent Customer Service - In the long run the price came out the same but I got myself a Delta 10" tablesaw, 16' extension ladder(fiberglass), and this framing gun compressor kit. 9th and after opening the box I noticed the compressor was damaged.
I'd recommend this compressor and framing gun to any DIY person. Also, A+ service from Amazon on handling my damaged product and having a replacement to me in such a fast time.
