Product Description Airtight tank holds compressed air for months Models include: Air shut-off gage. Pressure gage.
found in KT1100's reviews: Works as advertised - I've had one of these Campbell Hausfeld tanks for many years, to carry compressed air outside to work on lawn equipment.
Pros:
- For low air-volume applications, or when you need decent pressure for a short while, it works just fine. It's purpose is to have compressed air on a small job (or tire-filling), where there is no electricity.
Cons:
- After filling the tank (125 psi to 175 psi, depending on your aircompressor), pressure will quickly drop below 80 psi once you start using it. So, this tank is only practical for air tool use of very short duration - e., an air ratchet wrench to remove a handful of bolts/nuts. Air tools just don't work [well] with insufficient pressure. In fact, with 11 gallons of pressurized air, this tank is only useful for small air-volume applications, regardless of pressure needed.
With no electricity nearby, options include: this tank, a long extension cord, or a long air hose. Otherwise, any aircompressor would be a better choice, since air volume at pressure, will be unlimited. (Of course, the cheapest tank aircompressors cost around $100.

At just a foot high and less than two feet wide out of the carton, this compressor was quite a bit smaller than we expected, so to be fair, we quickly lowered our expectations. The joke was on us, though, because this little powerhouse just doesnt quit, and we learned that you cant judge a compressor by its size. Emglos half-century in the compressor business is evident in this model, and with a couple of small exceptions (well get into that in a minute), we dont think anyone could make a finer piece of air power. Now, this may be a plus or a minus in your book, but we liked the fact that the compressor is factory set to power on at 100 psi an+d shut off at 120 psi, and the cycle time was under 15 seconds.) It has air aplenty for two nailers at once, and with that fast recovery, the job will get done in no time.
If we had to say what we didnt like, there are two items on that list: First, we thought the power switch would have been better seated on the front panel rather than the side, but thats a miniscule complaint. What you do want to watch out for, though, is the proximity of the reset switch to parts that get searingly hot while in use.
In balance, this is one of the best compressors weve seen for the size, power, ruggedness and incredible portability it offers. Heres to a great pairing of two great toolmakers.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

2 HP, 4 Gallon, Electric Single Tank Hand Carry Compressor, 4.
found in D55155's reviews: DeWalt D 55155 - I use my compressor for light work on my auto and boat. It runs my air tools very well. The compresser came with a defective copper air line, DeWalt shipped a new one and I installed it. After a year or so of use the pressureswitch started to leak. I repaired the switch by properly tightening the screw around the gasket. it's too much! - This is a great compressor. however there's the exception of one valve and a reset switch. Secondly, the reset switch is located too close to the cylinder housing and cooling system which are about as hot as the sun when the machine is running. plus the switch itself is a little tiny. I've one additional bad thing to say and that is that DeWalt could use some better paint to go with such a great looking compressor! there's already rust on my cylinder housing and I only purchased the unit a week ago! But overall, I would recommend it highly. I'm pleased with it and I've actually used it; A LOT. - Quick pressure up from 0. A tad noisy, but what compressor isn't. This compressor drives 3+ inch nails no problem. Of course I have to mention the 1andonly dislike(thats the on/off-switch location). Perfect compressor for small jobs - This compressor will fill all your needs for small jobs on the worksite. It is flawless for air tools that do not require a large continuous flow of high pressureair. I've used it with a dewalt finishing nailer, brad nailer, air blower, porter cable gravity feed spray gun, and husky cut off wheel. Heavy use of my 4" grinder will cause the motor to be on constantly and airpressure will drop too low to power the grinder at usable rpms. A nice small compressor - I bought this aircompressor to do light construction work. I have to say that I was a little skeptical at first about using a small compressor for roofing or framing nailers but I was satisfied after the first time I used it. This compressor has impressed me more than most of my other tools. I have ran the compressor off of 100 foot 12 gauge cord and haven't noticed any problems at all. I have a gas powered Emglo compressor and the quality is outstanding. The only downfall that I can find is that I think the power switch should be located on the front panel instead of on the side and thats just a personal preferance. Other than that it has been a really great compressor and I would recommend this compressor over any other in its class. It may cost a little more but you won't have to replace it like the other compressors. A pleasure to use - The only item I found could use more thought was the routing of the power cable from the switch box to the motor - somewhat vulnerable, yet still protected by the base of the unit. No bad feelings about P-C products, the pancake compressor just gave up the ghost early and had to be replaced with a more capable unit - so far the Dewalt seems like a super piece. Very Nice Unit - I had a Porter Cable pancake compressor and yes it did roll around in the back of my truck and had a real hard time maintaining pressure when under extreme load such as running my texture gun. It is a fairly hefty unit but it does carry nice due to it's shape. NOT for everyone !! - Be realistic and really think about your needs in a compressor - because this one is meant for low-volume work.
Factory set pressure valve set to kick on compressor at 100psi and turn off at 120psi - which means that any fair amount of use will cause this sucker to go on-off-on-off-on-off almost constantly!
Bottom Line: DO NOT get this if you need a generous supply of air (for blow nozzles, production cabinetry, house framing, paint sprayers, etc.)
Go ahead and get one if you need a portable, professional quality, low-volume air supply (for continuous finish nailing or occasional large gun use)
This would be the perfect tool for a handyman who needs occassional yet reliable air from house to house.

found in CPLC7060V's reviews: AirCompressor - This aircompressor has alot of power, more than enough to run two tools at one time. Was simple to set up (wiring, piping, etc.)
The only drawback that I found was the drain plug on the bottom, it leaked air even after tighting it up. So far so good - I've had this compressor for about a year and like it. I bought it when I switched to air tool sanding and it easily keeps up with that job. The manual advises you to releive the airpressure though the quick relief valve, automatically down to about 10PSI, then opening the water drain and closing the valve before restarting.

found in CPF23400P's reviews: Badly designed pressureswitch - The pressureswitch occasionally will not shut of the compressor. There is no consistancy in the amount of pressure it builds. I phoned the service center and they said they may not have the parts for this compressor and may have to order them. Maybe a good compressor, but beware of shipping - I ordered my P-C 3HP/4GAL compressor from Amazon, and their tool supplier, Tool Crib, shipped the unit to me via UPS. When I unpacked the compressor there was a broken piece of plastic in the bottom of the box. After reading the Owner's Manual and starting the break-in procedure I realized the plastic piece was the on/off switch! Using plastic for such a high-use piece like the on/off switch is a very poor design.
I took the compressor to the local Porter-Cable service center and they tell me the boxes the P-C compressors come in are NOT designed to handle the rigorous treatment of UPS shipping. The compressor is very heavy and the support inside the box is just flimsy cardboard, so the unit will shift alot during UPS shipment.
No wonder the switch was broken. It's been two weeks now and the replacement switch unit still has not arrived.
Be advised about this shipping problem with this compressor. Something Different Inside - The pressure supplied is more than sufficient for average duty use. A slight tug on your air hose is enough to send it rolling. Great Little Air Squeezer!!! - This little Porter Cable compressor is all (and more) that I expected it to be. It pumps the 4-gallon tank to 125 psi in less than a minute, and then cycles automatically as the pressure drops. The output should be more than adequate for my needs to run an air ratchet, blow nozzle, hand sandblaster and pressurize a small auxilliary portable tank. A good compressor to get you started. - I shopped extensively for a light duty compressor based on the following criteria: price, weight, and flow rating. It features the same motor and compressor as the PC 3HP twin stack model but is $40 cheaper and about 10 pounds lighter.
Other than that what can I say - it pumps air. Supposedly it runs at higher pressure (135 psi max) than its competitors. It is fairly loud, but I haven't listened to many other models to make an educated comparison. I have used it quite a bit for high air flow operations, such as blowing off dust / debris and even running an air chisel to bust up concrete. It often runs full time for 5-10 minutes and is able to keep up with air demand. If you are going to be regularly moving the compressor around, spend the extra. I actually ran a compressed air line out to my garage, so the compressor can stay put in the basement and avoid potential damage from moving it.
*** 4-year update ***
I have owned this compressor for 4+ years now and am still completely satisfied. I did have one problem with a leaky pressure regulator. I used a hand held, air chisel to break up the mortar joints. The compressor was operating at 100% duty cycle for 10-15 minutes at a stretch, but couldn't quite keep up with continuous use of the air chisel. As an last ditch experiment, I bought a 10 gal portable air storage tank, some extra quick disconnect fittings and rigged up a reserve tank in parallel with the 4 gallon PC tank. (yes, I am an engineer) My thinking was that I would run the crap out of my little PC and if it bit the dust, that was my excuse to buy a new compressor. I am amazed to say the PC compressor ran flawlessly for the entire chimney demo and still works fine today.
