found in AM780-HC4V's reviews: Great But ... - I have several compressors, but since this is light and runs on 15 am circuits it is the preference for small volume needs such as small nail guns, tires and especially jobs where transporting the compressor is required. Example, a framer and helper will easily outrun the production capability of the compressor with one gun. On a hot day with poor air circulation the motor start capacitor blew. Since this was the only issue with the tool I decided it made sense to repair. My standard motor repair shop wouldn't touch it. The Emglo repair center wanted an exhorbitant amount for the capacitor ($$). The time I spent calling around and shopping for the replacement part far exceeded the value of simply replacing the compressor unit.
Starts easily under low voltage conditions Built-in thermal overload protection for added safety Dynamically balanced counterweight crankshaft design for reduced vibration Durable cast aluminum components for lighter weight and faster heat dissipation Designed especially for finish work
found in MAC500's reviews: Caution - First of all this is a light-weight, cost effective compressor.
I recommend buying a different compressor. The part that broke off was not the large motor section but the small separate connector section containing the pressure dials. moter is a bust ! - I thought that I had finally found the perfect compressor for a trim carpenter. Here was a light compressor from a company that I thought sold only quality products. It has a small footprint and is very light and it delivers a decent amount of air. The service tech informed me that Makita buys the moter for this unit from another company, and it is junk! So it cost me $60 for labor to fix a 3 month old compressor. He suggested the same fix as the counter top unit for the next repair.
One Year Warranty Convenient control panel has regulator, gauge, and two quick connect outlets Higher tank pressure provides more usable air per tank re-charge New high-pressure design keeps tank pressure between 110 and 135 PSI 3 HP induction motor delivers 7.7 SCFM at 40 PSI, 5.5 SCFM at 90 PSI
found in CPF23400S's reviews: Frustrated with the technical assistance - I received my compressor and unpack it. Ops! It looks like a bad quality control. I went there with the compressor and they took it and said to leave it there for one day, and on the next day they should call me to pick it up. Ohhh! Come on!!! I can't believe that! The most common and cheap part of a compressor they don't have in stock!? Is that kind of technical assistance we have from Porter Cable when we just buy a brand new compressor and need it working??? I think I should send it back and bought another from another company, because, now, I'm just waiting and I can't do my job. Don't let the handle fool you. - I bought it to replace a 1 1/2 horse 2 gallon compressor because it's twice as powerful. I know now why most compressors this size have wheels. I wanted an aircompressor that could inflate tractor tires and power air tools. I recommed this to any one looking for an good aircompressor that stays for the most part in one place. This Portable Compressor is Rugged and Well Built ! - Surprised and impressed! I looked at Home Depot and Lowes and decided to order this aircompressor to save the Tax and the trouble of bring it home. The best part is that I didn't have to stuff this big box in the back of my car to bring it home.
Looking at the other brands of portable compressors I really like how well this one is built. Don't know yet - I spoke with the owner of the company, Kim Allen, and he said that I would need to have it repaired under the warranty. After several calls to the toll-free number in the manual to the factory, I was put in touch with a repair facility an hour away and was told they don't stock the part but could order it and get it back to me in a few days. Hopefully, PC will come though without me spending four round trip hours and a week without a compressor. Plenty of Power to Offer...but it needs plenty, too. - I tried the compressor on an undedicated 15 amp circuit, and it immediately blew the switch every time. I also learned (the hard way, of course) that if you are using the compressor with a 50' extension chord (with too high a guage) on a 20 amp circuit, the pump will not get enough electricity to pump air after cutting-in when the tank pressure drops to 110 psi (the specified cut-in pressure) - the pump will start pumping, but quickly stop and you'll hear the motor straining until it blows the 20 amp circuit, too. It's cheaper, my new Porter Cable friends say, to buy more air hose than the right gauge extention chord - Ah, such knowledge I'm gaining. Sadly, the compressor arrived with an air intake filter housing badly bent downward (done apparently at the factory, as the box from Amazon wasn't damaged), so I couldn't remove the air filter. AND, the drain valve (to drain water from the bottom of the tank) would not completely close allowing lots of air to excape from the tank. In my chats with an Amazon tool sales rep, and later with a Porter Cable tech rep (to help me unravel the compressor's electrical-needs mysteries), both Companies quickly and nicely insisted on sending me a new air intake filter housing and a new drain valve (I guess I'm getting two of each?) - no questions asked. The machine is fairly loud, but it only takes my pump about 6 seconds to refill the tanks from the 110 psi cut-in pressure to the specified 135 psi cut-out pressure. I figure the noise level goes hand-in-hand with the added power this compressor offers - power I think I need. Suggestions: the manufacturer needs to tighten quality controls inspection of the product prior to boxing & shipping, and the editorial reviewers need to "call a spade a spade" in write-ups on this tool's power needs.

found in M790-HC4V's reviews: Defective out of the box - I was very excited to receive my Emglo M790-HC4V aircompressor today. After I installed the oil in the compresor crankcase and turned it on, the motor hummed loudly as though it had a shorted winding and refused to turn the compressor. After close examination, I was surprised to see that the compressor / motor unit is mostly a white metal casting that is secured to the chassis with self tapping screws. This low cost "cheap and dirty" method of securing the unit to the frame makes me wonder abut the quality of the internal design.
Cast iron cylinder enhances pump life Dual soft start valves assists in cold weather start up 4 CFM delivered at 90 psi, provides rapid recovery Easy access panel with two universal couplers improves user access Factory reconditioned to perform like new!
found in D55152R's reviews: DeWalt Compressor - The compressor charges the storage tank to capacity in short order and has no leaks. This is a very nice tool for portable use and light enough to carry around to air up your tires. Considering the price and quality, I consider it to be a very good value.

found in MK5HGA-8P's reviews: Dependible - I own a construction business and have had this compressor for a couple of years and it works non-stop without flaw. As soon as you take it out of the box you can see the quality and precision that went into the manufacturing.
