I have taken it everywhere, on roofs, in fields, in basements, run it off a generator, used it for almost everything you could use a compressor for, and it keeps on going. Nailing (framing and finishing) , small paint jobs with a cup gun or pressure pot, air chisle, air ratchet, air wrench, you name it. I have to carry a propane heater on the truck to warm up the compressor so it will run. A DECENT LIGHT DUTY UNIT - I've a professional woodworker for 20+ years and have owned several small compressors. The list price of $600+ is a joke but wouldn't be all that far out of line if it didn't come with the flaws in the controls that turn up eventually in all light duty compressors in the $200-$300 price range. Using a light duty unit like this to feed tools like air sanders or paint guns would fry even larger, inexpensive, medium duty compressors after a realtively short time.

I occasionally will sand and paint but it's not a major use for me (Ihate sanding and painting). A sander (especially a high-speed unit) uses an awful lot of air and under heavy sander use I think this unit would be "strained". Bottom line if you need a compressor but the smaller 15 to 20 gal types are not enough and a big 60 to 80 gal.

It's not too loud, it can fill up fairly quick, and most of all it provided plenty of power for what I was using it for, even when using a 100 foot extension cord. This is a SERIOUS compressor* - Desipite its small size and minimal air tank capacity, this is a very serious commercial duty air compressor. AC induction motors like the ones found in this compressor are far superior to brushed AC motors found in most "consumer" air compressors. Because of this motor, the compressor is able to deliver air flows similar to larger 15 gallon compressors. Quite frankly, I'm amazed that anyone can sell this compressor for such a low cost. Aside from air sanding or heavy duty HVLP paint spraying, there is nothing that I cannot do with this compressor. Great General Purpose Portable Compressor - I bought this compressor to run nail guns, air sand and spray paint. It is also handy to limit the pressure to safe levels for your various air tools. It is not as loud as large upright compressors, but it does make a fair amount of noise, although not as much as I expected. I use it with a Souix air sander and it does run longer when I am working. Painting on furniture sized projects is no problem. If you take on a tractor trailer, get a bigger compressor.
