Only minor criticisms - I bought this compressor for some fairly goofy reasons. I wanted a compressor with a cage, oil-less, side stacked tanks, and preferably some sort of lined cylinders. The last reason was because the Craftsman compressor that I had ( 220v 6hp/33gal ) the tank walls surface rusted and the air/water separator ( thank goodness I had one ) would eventually turn rusty red. The Makita is not all that light, but it is pretty well balanced, and compared to my Craftsman ( which isnt really fair because of the motor size ) it is much more quiet, this unit is nicely finished and recovers very quickly - usually runs about 10 seconds after I realize it is running again.

found in CPACK200's reviews:
A very good package - This nailer has the best range and the compressor is more than adequate for the job, although the plastic housing over the motor was cracked-something my wife thought was to be addressed-but why bother in the scheme of things.
Exactly what I expected (pretty much)... - I decided on the Bostitch Finish Nailer because of the Stanley Tools reputation, and the recommendation of two friends that use Bostitch air tools on almost a daily basis." The plastic motor housing on the compressor was busted when the package arrived-- looking at some of the other reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem. This is my first air tool, so I was a little disappointed in the instructions/documentation; once I pulled everything out of the box and took a little time to figure things out (which wasn't that difficult), I was shooting nails within ten minutes. may be assuming some level of "air tool knowledge" for anyone purchasing their product.) Overall though, I'm thrilled with the design and functionality of the compressor and the nailer.

Very Nice little compressor - This is a great little compressor from Senco's discontinued line of Accuset tools .

I like this compressor because of its relatively light weight [39 pds. Most of the bits that would tend to get knocked off during loadind and moving are enclosed in the plastic shrouding around the motor , and the air chuck is sensibly and securly mounted on top so pulling by the air hose shouldn't break it off as has happened with other compressors I've owned . Keeping in mind that it is oil less [which means they use teflon coated rings in stead of an oil bath] I would say it falls in the middle or slightly below for a decible rating of compressors of this type . Only the Thomas industries line of compressors could truly be called quiet from what I've seen.

As for qaulity and performance , I had to replace 4 rooms of carpeting about 9 years ago due to a "leak free" oil bath compressor so I switched to these oiless types and have found them to be flawless and I've never looked back. Obviously you wouldn't run a large framing crew with it , then you'd have a gas powered compressor. It still uses a 3450 rpm motor to get the air output/low 14 amp draw . Other machines sometimes have 1750 rpm motors which are quieter but pump less air.

Absolutely Fabulous... - I cannot tell you how many projects I have completed or are swimming in my mind now that I own this nailer and compressor kit. The compressor is so easy to carry around and holds enough capacity so that I can carry it into closets or other small spaces without having to worry if electrical outlets are nearby. It takes mine less than a minute to refill if I use all the compressed air. Outfitted with an air chuck, I can keep all the motor vehicle tires filed without running to the gas station, and by purchasing a nozzle, I can keep all my other tools free of sawdust.

Spend more money and get a REAL compressor - I bought this compressor to use for airbrushing. It worked fine for about two months, then it just quit working! The motor runs fine, and all the valves are tight, but no air!

This is honestly a disposable compressor and I'd advise anyone considering buying a compressor to save up for a REAL compressor.

It's also one of the loudest compressors of its size that I've ever used. If you need a cheap compressor for occasional use and light duty (airing up bicycle tires, blowing out birthday candles, etc.

Caution - First of all this is a light-weight, cost effective compressor.

I recommend buying a different compressor. The part that broke off was not the large motor section but the small separate connector section containing the pressure dials.
