I placed an order for this compressor and an air house that was free. Finally I got tired of waiting , went online to track the item. I found out that UPS returned the item back to the manufacturer (damaged item - reason given) they issued me an instant credit, and I am left with an air house and air chuck (part of the order that was delivered) and NO compressor. The air house was supposed to be free but it is not, I got charged 34$ because I did not buy any compressor.

found in HL5502's reviews: incomplete package - As someone who is new to the Airtool game, I didn't want to spend alot of money seeing how I do not use airtools regularly but wanted to try them out.To get longer service life than oil free units, This compressor is an oil lubricated unit and yet it does not come with oil! I guess thats one way they can cut costs. It also does not come with a quick connect fitting at the output end, but rather has female threads that you screw an air hose into. I saw this compressor for 139. The manual is not very well written at all, so take your time and read it over a couple of times! When you get this compressor, you will have to go out and buy; 1 bottle of mobile one synthetic motor oil(10w30)for abot 5 dollars, a 1/4 inch fitting and quick connect(about 12 dollars). Now you are ready to plug in a hose and airtools.I am extremely happy with this compressor-it really isn't any noisier than other compressors in this price range-lets face it-compressors are a power tool and thus are loud!I did not find the noise that bad at all. It produces 5cfm at 40 psi, 4 cfm at 90, so it will run alot of tools besides nailers on an intermittent basis. My total investment to get this up and running was still less than 200 dollars which is not bad for an oil lubed compressor. The facts about this aircompressor - Don't believe everything that the editors at Amazon wrote about this compressor. It will not be the best tool to use when sandblasting or painting. With those jobs you need a large tank capacity like over 20 gallons at least, this compressor only has 4 gallons. Yes it is true what the other reviewer said, this compressor is loud, but what do you expect all aircompressors are relatively loud. And yes this compressor is heavy I think it's about 70 lbs. Hitatchi's twinstack oil-lube version is about the same as this compressor but goes for twice the price. Other than that I think that this compressor is a buy because it's oil-lubed (more reliable than oil less), affordable, and made by a company that is known for it's aircompressors.

The plastic motor housing on the compressor was busted when the package arrived-- looking at some of the other reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem. This is my first airtool, so I was a little disappointed in the instructions/documentation; once I pulled everything out of the box and took a little time to figure things out (which wasn't that difficult), I was shooting nails within ten minutes. may be assuming some level of "airtool knowledge" for anyone purchasing their product.) Overall though, I'm thrilled with the design and functionality of the compressor and the nailer. Horrible directions for a novice, but good equipment - I'm new to pneumatic equipment and was really disappointed by the lousy directions in this kit. I'd imagine that many people buying this kit are new to airtools (since they need to buy a compressor too). The compressor directions were worse, probably because they were roughly translated from italian. (I can't believe I was actually considering predrilling and hammering finish nails by hand for my project!)
I wasn't really happy with the depth control on the nailer since there's no indicator (at least the compressor has a pressure guage). I do wish the compressor was quieter, or started up slower (it scared the hell out of me when the pump automatically refilled the tank, even through my earplugs). Shipping seems to be a problem - I received my nailer/compressor combo today. I read the reviews on this tool before I ordered it, and several people reported shipping damage. The foot rest on the end of the compressor tank was bent. Quality Problems, Quality Problems - Let me say, it is my first air nailer and I love the concept. The compressor was missing hardware for one wheel preventing me from setting it up. The compressor also had a large number of scratches on its side like it had been slid across a floor. Nothing I won't do to it eventually on my own but not nice for a new tool. The instructions for the compressor are very poor.
