The EC25E is a commercial grade gas drive compressor from Hitachi. The 10-inch fly wheel includes a baffle to direct cool air towards the pump.
Product Description Hitachi EC25E is a commercial-grade gas-driven compressor from Hitachi. The pump and crankcase feature oil-splash lubrication and a ball-bearing-mounted crankshaft, ensuring the compressor will be running for years to come. The unit's twin draincocks, one of each of the 4-gallon air tanks, makes it easy to purge the tanks of compressed air and condensation, helping prevent internal corrosion. In addition, the EC25E's large canister intake filter keeps the air running through the compressor and your nailer clean. The 10-inch flywheel includes a baffle to direct cool air towards the pump.

found in EC16's reviews: Rama Timmons - I bought this compressor about 2 months ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. The Hitachicompressor I got first was broken in shipping and did not work so I sent it back. The next compressor arrived and it to was broken in shipping, but I decided to keep it since it was still working. Now that I have used it for over a month I've decided that my Ten Year old Compressor from Montgomery Ward believe it or not works much better. The Hitachicompressor takes forever to get up to pressure and if you are sheating a roof or a floor it will not keep up with even one nail gun. Even framing walls with only one nail gun the compressor can not keep up I have to go back with a hammer and finish driving 50% of all the nails. Do not buy this compressor unless the only thing you plan on doing is making bird houses with it!.

found in EC12's reviews: Hitachi's Dependable Compressor - I chose the Hitachi three years ago because it has a fine compressor and motor, solid construction, and overall good design. Despite this one flaw I would still by another Hitachi in a heart beat. The Hitachi is not only reliable, but, unlike many compressors, it truly works on 15 amps. This compressor has never blown a fuse on me, which is something of a miracle considering the wiring in many of the older homes I remodel. Horrible warranty service from Hitachi and Amazon - We sent the Ec 12 in for repair after only six months of use, on April 12. They still have not repaired or returned the compressor. Hitachi rep for the NW said that is the best they can do. A good little workhorse - Puts out enough air to keep two framing nailguns running at full speed.
I find that I am using the big shop compressor much less - it's just so easy to plug in the handy little Hitachi for everything. As the Hitachi uses an odd-sized thread for their gauges you have to either replace them with another (relatively expensive at $17 or so and weak plastic ) Hitachi gauge or replace the regulator and add a new gauge (costs a little more but most replacement regulators are better made than the original costs maybe $21 with a better gauge). Hitachi quaility and plenty of air. - This machine is yet another good example of high quality Hitachi engineering. This compressor has outlasted several other brands. I firmly believe that Hitachi gets 4. We simply do not run out of air no matter how fast we are working with the Senco SFN40's. I suppose Hitachi (and most other brands) leaves these off so that they will have a competitive price.
While I have given this compressor a 5 star rating, there are some things for the engineers (and you!) to think about in the next model: 1. This means you have to hold it out away from your body a bit more than the size of the compressor would promise.
These are relatively small gigs on a really great compressor. Good to go - The hitachi 2 horse protable compressor is light enough tocarry around the jobsite but heavy enough so it won't fall out theback of the truck. It delivers plenty of air for nailers air wrenchs and filling tires. I wouldn't use it for painting but it was about the same price as the Coleman compressors. Shipping Problems - Didn't get to test the Hitachi. I was amazed how little packing/protection is provided in the box for the compressor. I opened the box and was rewared with a lot of little plastic pieces that once were the air filter assembly. Since there does not appear to be a way for replacement parts to be sent to me, I will return the compressor without use. Good price and quality! - I did alot of checking on compressors and everyone really liked the hitachi. Excellent Value - Compact & NOT too noisy! - I initially bought one of those oil-less 'Pancake' type compressors. It was so noisy and could not stay put because of vibration that I returned it the same day! The Hitachi unit was just $60 more and is a brilliant piece of engineering design (executed in Italy). Affordable and hard working (residential construction) - Good airflow and not a power drain. Has powered two framing nailers but need to give compressor a breather when going fast. While using one framing nailer no problems even while using the hitachi pneumatic stapler for fastening sheathing. Great air supply for the blower used for cleaning tools of sawdust. Tremendous product, good value -
This becomes the third Hitachi tool product I have purchased, and the quality of their products continues to impress me. Hitachi EC12 2-Horsepower AirCompressor - Overall a great compressor. I have taken it everywhere, on roofs, in fields, in basements, run it off a generator, used it for almost everything you could use a compressor for, and it keeps on going. Nailing (framing and finishing) , small paint jobs with a cup gun or pressure pot, air chisle, air ratchet, air wrench, you name it. I have to carry a propane heater on the truck to warm up the compressor so it will run. Compressor great, regulator bad - This compressor is a great value. It has a quality oil lubricated motor and is competitively priced with "oil-less" compressors of similar size and capacity. It works great with my various small air tools (palm nailer, impact wrench, etc). If Hitachi included a better regulator, they would have a 5 star product. EC12 Cold Start Problems - The Hitachi EC12 is a very solid contractor compressor. While these problems occur across the board among compressor manufacturers, there is a product that helps eliminate the issue. Called the Smart Start by Conrader it replaces the standard inlet filter of the compressor. Happy, but could be happier - I was given a high recommendation for Hitachi power tools by a construction veteran, so I purchased one. The compressor is still fairly new and seems to provide excellent power for framing guns, finishing nailers, and hoppers. However, I am not incredibly impressed with this compressors ability to start. I realize during the cold winter mornings (not too cold in the San Francisco bay area), that some compressors require an empty tank to kick over, but this is getting a little ridiculous. I have seen on another review that a Smart Start inlet filter can be purchased to cure this problem, but it's annoying that you need to buy new parts to cure problems on a new compressor.
I guess having only one complaint for a power tool isn't too bad, but I'm sure there's a better compressor out there.

Porter-Cable is proud to introduce our first oil-lube compressor. When we first put our engineers on the task of designing an oil-lube compressor we gave them one priority; it could not have the same imported pump as all the other major brands have. Just as in a car, the lubrication system in the pump is the most vital part in a compressor. That is why this unit was designed with a patent pending oil slinger design as an integral part of the crankshaft that continues to lubricate the piston in any angle. The design features don't stop there; it boasts a cast-iron cylinder, stainless steel Swedish valves, and an automotive type paper filter to trap unwanted particles before they enter the system. Now, take this revolutionary pump engineered to last over 3,000 hours of use and add in the "High Pressure Technology" and you have compressor that will run at 150 pounds per square inch (PSI).5 horsepower induction motor is safely shrouded and acts as a wind tunnel providing more than enough air to cool the unit down even under the most strenuous conditions.3 HP Running

found in CPLDC2541S's reviews: Takes to much power and is too loud (also flimsy switch) - This compressor absolutely will NOT run on 15 amps. This makes this compressor almost usless for me because I can never find anywhere to plug it in. I was just working in a basement at the same time as a guy that had a Hitachicompressor and his was less than HALF as loud. The guy helping me tripped over the air hose and it caught on the little shutoff lever. Now my compressor won't even shut off. I'm seriously thinking about just leaving this for the garbage man and buying the DeWalt Emglo compressor. I ended up buying a CastAiraircompressor. CastAir is not a commercial brand, but the factory where they are made is about 2 miles from my house in Chaska, MN. These compressors were only recently made available to non-commercial applications (previously they specialized in huge compressors used in body shops, etc. It's quiet, powerful, and SOLID as a ROCK!!! A REAL contractor grade compressor for the same amount as I paid for this PC. I have NO relationship or incentive to recommend CastAir other than I'm a very satisfied customer. Check them out if you want a REALLY great compressor.

found in CPLDC2540S's reviews: A- compressor except for the regulator - I've been searching for a portable compressor for a couple of months now and near the end came up with three to chose from: the Emglo 55155, a Hitachi dual stack and this PC. Other compressors did meet these, but what draw me was the oil lube system that permits you to use it on uneven surfaces.5max) to not trip the circuit breakers, filtered intake (not output though) for longer motor life, shrouded motor for airflow from fan and good manual. The small metal cup also bit part of the plastic grommet retainer. The only thing I added at the universal coupler end is a water/air filter.

found in MAC700's reviews: Great compressor - This is a great little compressor with good output for the price. Mine arrived with a broken part which was no fault of the manufacturer, but they prompted sent me a replacement part without a problem. Please have someone proof read the specs. - This is a beautifully made little compressor. compressor, but it isn't. impression because I was tired of lugging my Hitachi EC12. I'm keeping the MAC700 for 2 reasons: firstly, it is about 15 pounds lighter than the Hitachi, and secondly, its designed to be easier to carry. Great Product - shipping bad - Our box was clearly tossed around or banged into during shippment which broke off the air filter assembly that screws into the cylinder head. To avoid the HUGE hassle of returning/shipping the compressor to Amazon, incurring shipping charges that were initially free when I ordered the compressor, lugging it back to UPS, and waiting for who knows how long for a replacement, I contacted Mikita and got a replacement part directly from them. The part was provided free for pick-up and was offered under warranty. An Airbrushing Powerhouse -
I use it to power airbrushes along with an added-on airbrush regulator/gauge/moisture trap. This is exactly what I wanted for airbrushing. It has a much longer lifespan than "airbrush compressors". The airbrushes work consistently all throughout the refill phase. This is the muscle car of airbrush compressors even though it was made in Taiwan. 5 to 10 minutes of airbrushing in silence, and when it comes on it does have some volume, but it is so much less noise than an oilless.
I had to tighten down the crankcase cover (Ref# 29, Part# 304013-E) because it was leaking oil. It's the large exposed part of the motor that you can easily reach and tighten up with a screwdriver. Always damaged - I had the compressor sent out two times, both times, it arrived damaged.
The compressor looked great, felt great, only wish Makita would have packaged it with more padding. I called Makita and they wouldn't send me the broken part unless I went to one of their distributors, and my nearest one is 40 minutes away. Amazon has been great about both returns, but they won't send me a third compressor. Great little compressor - Be sure to fill with oil and install the air filter before starting. It required drilling out the check valve, retapping the threads, buying an equivalent part at the hardware store, and reinstalling. Serious PITA, but cost was minimal and repair works fine.
All in all, a great little compressor, and the best choice if noise is a concern. Great little compressor - I have had this compressor for a couple of weeks now and really like it. I chose this model over the very popular oil-free pancake compressors mainly for it's compact size and low noise level.
The unit is compact, but much heavier duty than similar Cr*ftman compressors I saw at Sears. I did have a problem where the plastic oil filler cap was cracked, but Makita quickly sent me a replacement part under warantee. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for an occasional use compressor and does not want something large or loud. Recieved damaged, Makita service hopeless - Just received this compressor from Amazon/ToolKing. Called Makita to see if I could get the part under Warranty. Makita has a problem in the packing of these compressor's which leaves the valve exposed to being crushed inside the container. If you need to put the compressor into service right away, I suggest buying local or unfortunately another mfg.The compressor is quiet, and seems to run ok, I have only done the initial start up though.Seems to be a great little compressor.(supervisor)The compressor has been in service now for around 8mo.I did solder a new elbow onto a lower area of the check valve which works out better when the compressor rolls on its side.
