Porter-Cable’s solved the compressor mobility problem on two levels with this tool. First, and most impressively, it’s got a two-port removable console for remote air regulation and higher air pressure right where you’re working. And the compressor itself has wheels and an extension handle, making life easier on you.

Let’s face it: This compressor’s big, heavy and loud, with a max psi of 150. You can run three or four guns at once off it with a splitter and have no air supply problems whatsoever.5 gallon, oil-free contractor style compressor is packed with features. The high-flow air regulator and two-port removable console are winning combinations for contractors. Having the ability to remove the console gives the user the opportunity to remote air regulation and gain higher air pressure closer to the job site. Air delivery at 40 PSI: 7.

way to go portercable - This the best compressor on the market it keeps up with 2 framing nailers with no problem all day this machine is for constuction not for paint gun with high volume you need a bigger tank 10 gallion or bigger. The only problem we had with is setting the psi,it was set after one or two try's it works real well.
Fine for finish nailers - This compressor is LOUD and ear protection should be worn if you work near it. The problem lies in the fact that the unit cycles at 115 psi which is lower than the hose pressure needed for rapid nailing.
very good compressor - Michelles husband John using her account)
I`ve had this compressor for about a year now. (manual recomends not using extension cords whenever possible) I`ve run every kind of nail gun imaginable on it, frequently more than one at a time, sometimes three or four at a time with a splitter and had no problems. I`ve also had no problem with it starting up in below freezing weather while others I`ve seen need to warm up for a little while. I would definitly buy this compressor again.

found in MAC700's reviews:
Great Compressor - A Little Top Heavy - This thing is built so much better than my old pancake compressor that there's really no comparison. It's quiet (for a compressor) and handles all my nail guns without a problem. After using this for about a year, I'd say, to those with a problem: "send it back and get a good one" before I'd settle for using another basic pancake model - It's worth the hassle.
Very efficient Compressor - com, I decided to purchase "The Hot Dog" compressor. When I received the packgae, the compressor had oil over it leaked from the bottle supplied with it. That's a shipping problem. One thing I would like with the compressor is a package of some hose connectros and adapters.
Recieved damaged, Makita service hopeless - Just received this compressor from Amazon/ToolKing.
Makita has a problem in the packing of these compressor's which leaves the valve exposed to being crushed inside the container. If you need to put the compressor into service right away, I suggest buying local or
unfortunately another mfg.The compressor is quiet, and seems to
run ok, I have only done the initial start up though.Seems to be a great little compressor.
I'm going to use an easy out to remove the broken thread/stud from inside the valve and just buy the elbow locally(I hope)
You can see many other posts on the internet regarding this same problem.(supervisor)The compressor has been in service now for around 8mo.I did solder a new elbow onto a lower area of the check valve which works out better when the compressor rolls on its side.

Great compressor - This is a great little compressor with good output for the price.
Mine arrived with a broken part which was no fault of the manufacturer, but they prompted sent me a replacement part without a problem.

Arrived damaged - I called the Makita service center and explained the problem.
Another Damaged compressor - It's time Amazon stepped up to the plate and acknowledge that there is a serious problem with this unit arriving damaged.
Smashed crankcase cover - The infamous packaging/delivery problem persists. The compressor came by USPS and I had to pick it up from the post office. I called the service department and the manager is very friendly to offer for the repair. After waiting for an hour at the service shop, I came out with a working compressor.

I only have had the compressor for 3 days, and, it has been working like they advertised.

Makita MAC700 -nice little compressor - I almost didn't order this compressor after reading all the reviews about shipping damage, but mine arrived in perfect shape.

My old pancake compressor finally died. It is resonably portable and very very quiet for a compressor. No problem at all running it inside a room close to where you are working.

Arrived damaged II1 - As with my first experience the second Makita air compressor arrived in the same condition. The elbow sticks out away from the compressor and it is very fragile and shears off with any type of contact from anything. Can you imagine every time the compressor were to hit anything or tip over the elbow would shear off.

Amazon was slow to ship and I got an email that said they were having trouble shipping the compressor to me. I don't know what kind of trouble but the compressor was sent to me several days after the initial time for shipping.

They are going to come and pick up the compressor and refund my money after they get the compressor. Somebody in management and quality control needs to wise up regarding this problem.

Great little compressor - I have had this compressor for a couple of weeks now and really like it. I chose this model over the very popular oil-free pancake compressors mainly for it's compact size and low noise level.

The unit is compact, but much heavier duty than similar Cr*ftman compressors I saw at Sears. I did have a problem where the plastic oil filler cap was cracked, but Makita quickly sent me a replacement part under warantee. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for an occasional use compressor and does not want something large or loud.

The new MAC2400 - Twin Stack air compressor by Makita is blowing away the competition.3 amps to operate, a lower 1720 RPM rating and a heavy duty Intake Air Filter system like no other, its easy to see how this unit will out last and outperform everyone else. Large automotive style industrial air filter for increased air intake and greater efficiency.
found in MAC2400's reviews:
No problem with shipping - Compressor shipped promptly by Amazon in factory box. No external damage to box, no damage to compressor. Heavy but that will be solved with adding a dolly to hold the compressor and an added hose reel.
For what it's worth, this compressor was made in Taiwan, not Mexico as is the case for some of the competitors.

Minnesota Charlie - The compressor arrived in good condition, no damage during shipping. I used it with several air tools like ratchet, impact wrench, stapler, finish nailer, and framing nailer. The air cleaner seems loose and doesn't fit as snugly as it should to the motor. One small problem, it is very heavy to move around but that is a sign of quality.
Great portable compressor! - I have used this compressor for about 2 months with absolutely no problem. This is the quietest compressor I have owned and sure is a pleasure to not hear the noise, especially in a small room. I have used the compressor to run a framing nailer, air drill, and impact wrench with no problems. With the air drill it took a couple times letting the air compressor recharge the tanks before I could get full power out of the drill. This is a great air compressor for anyone wanting a quite portable unit! .
Best in class - I think it's the best for the following:
A) This compressor just purrs.
B) Over-built compressor compared to tank size - so cycle times are very short - if using light-duty tools, it doesn't run much anyway.
C) No leaks - holds its air pressure seemingly forever when turned off (not that you shouldn't release pressure when done using it).
D) The air filter is a miniature version of an old-time car air filter. The glaring exception is the air filter hanging off the side - I can see this part's going to be replaced at some point when I throw it in a truck bed. No problem for shop use though. In this case, the air filter is just thrown in loose inside the box - mine broke one of the gauge glasses.

Decent compressor if you can get one without damage - I researched portable compressors for months before deciding on the MAC2400. Even with weight I was quite pleased with the compressor but my buying experience was much less.
My first compressor from Amazon had a broken plastic motor cover which wasn't caused by shipping damage. There seems to be a wide spread problem with some of these and also the mac700's.
I sent it back and Amazon had a replacement back to me in 3-4 days, Quick!, but that compressor also was damaged. The air cleaner housing was thrown on top of the compressor and beat up the control panel and one gauge from bouncing around. I was told to contact Amazon and after a week of waiting on Amazon, I was told that they could not send part (it would void warranty if replaced) and they were not going to send a replacement compressor. I packaged up the second compressor and sent back. I wasn't going to order another brand compressor from Amazon as I didn't want the hassle if damaged again. looking at Ridgid as I really didn't want a Dewalt or the Porter Cable pancake compressor which they carried. I bought a Ridgid model with a higher cfm rating, larger air tanks, wheels, handle and it came out of box without a scratch. After moving it around the house and up the stairs, I don't know how long I would have enjoyed carrying the MAC2400 or any other brand compressor that weighs 70-80lbs.

Overall the MAC2400 looked and sounded like a good compressor for the short time I had it but makes me wonder how well they are built, with so many problems between packaging and broken parts inside cartons not caused by shipping damage on the Mac700's and a few of these. If you are not in a hurry for a compressor and/or don't care about cosmetic condtion out of the box (if damaged) then Amazon is the place to buy with their best price. I have a feeling I wouldn't have had these problems if ordered elsewhere and paid a little more.

Packaging major problem - I'm sure the compressor will prove to be a great reliable workhorse, fired it up and it's not too loud, held the pressure. My problem has been receiving 3 damaged compressors. The plastic guard around the motor is always cracked and the mounting bolts have been jarred loose leading me to think that if bump that broke the plastic guard was big enough to jar the bolts what else is damaged? Dewalt, whats the problem with using a better packing method? Other companies seem to have it down, especially Bosch.
Exactly what I needed - Runs 2-3 nail guns all day long without a problem. If you're looking for a great little compressor to take to jobs this is it.
I received damaged shroud also! - I wish I read the reviews before I ordered mine because I had the exact same problem as C. I pulled the compressor out and sure enough my shroud was broken too and the entire compressor was covered in a thin coat of oil.

found in PC0947's reviews:
Woodworker Hobby or Trim Tool - The nailer is a quality tool that sells for $120 everywhere so that makes the compressor only $75. I had a $15 coupon so the compressor was only $60 for me.
The compressor is so light that it is no problem carrying it. I used 5/8" brads on molding on a shop project and 2" brads on floor qtr-round without a single problem. I will get an air blower tip for it; so far I'm satisfied.

I used this product - I too had a problem with the 1/4 tubing that is attached to the compressor it cracked right where it bends I used to intall wainscotting and it worked fine.
Easy, Light - Boy was I wrong! I'm shooting 2" brads into red oak no problems at all. And I don't have to lug around a giant compressor. No such problem on the Senco.
I'm impressed. - The compressor is small & quiet and has absolutely no problem keeping up with the nailer. I own an old 5 horse 220 v compressor but wanted something to use inside the house without running hundreds of feet of hose from the garage.
This contractor is very pleased... with the compressor - I own several portable compressors, but hate to lug them around. The little compressor is lightweight and perfect for small jobs like these. On bigger jobs I still use one of my heavy duty compressors. So, that may be the problem some of the other reviewers are having.
Very Satisfied - The compressor is small and light, easily fits in the trunk or back seat, a breeze to move from place to place. It cycles after 4 or 5 quick shots, but I work deliberately so any lag in recovery is not a problem for me. I live in an apartment, and I agree with others who have found the noise level lower than other compressors, a blessing in that environment.

Not having any experience with air tools, yet knowing it was the way to go to install casing and baseboard in my kitchen remodel, I agonized over whether to get a brad or finish nailer.

Roofing, Framing, No Problem - I wanted a lightweight high-performance compressor. I'm not using it for impact tools, sandblasting or anything else that requires a high CFM, as this compressor is not designed for that type of usage. I've run two Bostitch Coil Roofing nailers with no problems. My Framing gun? No problems whatsoever.
I love this litte work horse! - This Compressor is a great value, you will not find a better one for this price.I have used this compressor with a finish nailer and have had no down time at all.It is also light and very portable! I just wish the little guy was a bit more quiet but other than that I have no problem with this equipment at all.Everyone can now afford to become an "airhead" Once you do you will never go back to a hammer again.

At just a foot high and less than two feet wide out of the carton, this compressor was quite a bit smaller than we expected, so to be fair, we quickly lowered our expectations. The joke was on us, though, because this little powerhouse just doesn’t quit, and we learned that you can’t judge a compressor by its size. Emglo’s half-century in the compressor business is evident in this model, and with a couple of small exceptions (we’ll get into that in a minute), we don’t think anyone could make a finer piece of air power. Now, this may be a plus or a minus in your book, but we liked the fact that the compressor is factory set to power on at 100 psi an+d shut off at 120 psi, and the cycle time was under 15 seconds.) It has air aplenty for two nailers at once, and with that fast recovery, the job will get done in no time.

In balance, this is one of the best compressor’s we’ve seen for the size, power, ruggedness and incredible portability it offers. Here’s to a great pairing of two great toolmakers.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

2 HP, 4 Gallon, Electric Single Tank Hand Carry Compressor, 4.
    found in D55155's reviews:
Major quality control and service issues - I am a contractor and have had this compressor for three years. This is the worst compressor I have ever owned. I have had too many problems with this machine. The main problem is that the unit will not start up at the beginning of the day. It starts very slowly and pops the breaker about a dozen times before the motor reaches full speed (rpm), then it runs fine until it cools down and the problem starts again. I should have just replaced the compressor for the headache it's been. I've called Dewalt to try to find out the problem and they seem to be totally clueless.
regulator problem - i also am having regulator problems with this unit.
Paradox - I just pulled the compressor out of the box and was mightly impressed. Hopefully a trip to the service center will remedy the problem.
Great !!! - After reading the reviews on Emglo compressors, I decided to get this DeWalt compressor because of the compact design. I've used this, along with the P-C framer and finisher guns, and the DeWalt had no problem keeping up with either one, and I really pushed the framer when framing a 12 x 16 storage bldg. I highly recommend this compressor but I could not give 5 stars, not knowing how well it will hold up (although it is not a concern).
Best investment yet - I just use short blasts of air and let the unit catch back up if I want to dust something off. I framed a couple 10x12 sheds, and a couple of interior walls with it and it has no problem.(longer air hose is better) .
Solid Performer. - I am a general contractor who needed a better compressor to do small framing jobs and finish jobs on site. We have used it for roofing and it does need nelp with two guns, but will run one no problem. Mine was a reconditioned unit and I have never experienced any problems and I use it, the larger tank does need to be drained regularly though, overall good compressor.
I'm pleased with it and I've actually used it; A LOT. - A tad noisy, but what compressor isn't. This compressor drives 3+ inch nails no problem.

kinda load - Thomas has good tech support - Received as expected, actually a day early thanks Amazon, the compressor is very well packed for shipping.5 hours, it will not hold air.
I'm now trying to get a reply from Thomas on where to take it or send it back for repair,I would like to resolve this as the compresser is a great size for one gun use.
Thomas Tech did return my call - worked with me on phone to try & fix problem, he overnighted the replacement part and upon installation everything is up & running - good tec support, this has caused it to quiet a little.

Perfect for my needs. - I have used it for molding installation and have purchased two additional nailers to use with the compressor: a framing nailer and flooring stapler. The compressor will cycle more often because of its small capacity but that is not a problem as long as you are near an electrical source.

      found in EC12's reviews:
Happy, but could be happier - The compressor is still fairly new and seems to provide excellent power for framing guns, finishing nailers, and hoppers. However, I am not incredibly impressed with this compressors ability to start. I realize during the cold winter mornings (not too cold in the San Francisco bay area), that some compressors require an empty tank to kick over, but this is getting a little ridiculous. This isn't a huge problem, but a noticable flaw. I have seen on another review that a Smart Start inlet filter can be purchased to cure this problem, but it's annoying that you need to buy new parts to cure problems on a new compressor.

I guess having only one complaint for a power tool isn't too bad, but I'm sure there's a better compressor out there.
