The VT6290, 2 Running HP, wired for household current delivers enough air power to tackle tough jobs. The twin cylinder, oil lubricated, cast iron single stage pump runs quieter - so the compressor can be used in the same area that the work is taking place. Solid cast iron units are up to 35% quieter than aluminum units with cast iron cylinder sleeves, and dramatically quieter than direct drive aluminum compressors. These compressors are made in the US with a 3 year warranty.

SINGLE STAGE AIRCOMPRESSOR. Single Stage Cast Iron Compressor5 HP Peak, 20 Gallon.
found in VT6290's reviews: VT6290 and FedEx - The box was busted on one side causing some of the content to spill outside (a tire and air filter). On top of that, FedEx delivered the box upside down, causing the discharge tube to bend, the air filter to separate from the pump, a busted pressure gauge and a bent handle bar.
The kind people at Campbell Hausfeld will send me all the damaged parts at no cost to fix it. The compressor DOES NOT include oil. The air filter supplied causes the compressor to be kind of noisy.
Except for the awful FedEx delivery, I am happy with the compressor. Free delivery, free air hose, no tax, and 10% off. Might work if received undamaged.......and with oil...and a few fixes - The shipping box is flimsy and cannot adequately support nor protect the compressor and parts. Mine arrived with a broken regulator, pressure gauge and air-filter assembly all of which apparently snapped off during shipment with no visible exterior box damage.
As the other reviewer also mentioned the compressor does NOT come with oil so be sure to have SAE30 air-compressor oil ready when it arrives. Also, you will need to provide your choice of air outlet connector.
If it wasn't for the bad shipment packaging I'd say initially that the compressor is a good buy but if Campbell Hausfeld has so little regard to protecting their product in shipment to you I question the integrity of the machine itself.
UPDATE 7/15: I am updating this review a full day after receiving and can add more to the trials and tribulations of purchasing a C-H compressor. The air filter assembly is currently taped but working until I can get a replacment. All in all if you include travel time to Home Depot nearly 2-1/2 hours were spent just getting the compressor to work only to discover that there is a leak at weld where the pump mount attaches to the tank.) if using an extension cable as this compressor does draw a load when starting.
IMHO I wouldn't order a product like this if you need it for an immediate job as it will take to either repair yourself or to return and await a replacement. I needed this compressor to replace my dead one and ordered it to coincide with my time at home as I could not expect my wife to unload it.

Even for occasional home maintenance, air tools are more practical and less costly than expensive electric power tools with umpteen mechanical parts and exorbitantly priced batteries of all shapes and sizes. But before investing in smart air tools, you need a quality compressor. This popular 4-gallon twin stack aircompressor from Campbell Hausfeld is oil lubricated and built to last. Ideal for inflation, nailing, stapling and spraying jobs, this compressor also powers everything from sandblasters and spray guns to drills and die grinders in a matter of seconds. So, rather than investing in an expensive new electric tool set; save time and money with this 4-gallon compressor and Campbell Hausfeld's line of 70 high quality air tools. The initial cost of an air tool is significantly lower than its electrically powered counterpart, and the average tool life expectancy is longer, too. Plus, when powered by this 4-gallon compressor, air tools deliver more torque and higher revolutions-per-minute than electric tools for less downtime and greater productivity.
found in HL5502's reviews: Noisy aircompressor - I just got this compressor a day ago. It came with a Campbell Hausfeld 2 1/2 inch finish nailer, an air hose and a quick release air fitting. The compressor fills up quickly but is noisy. Just got this at COSTCO w/finish nailer - I just got this compressor a few days ago and have not really had a chance to test it fully. It came with a Campbell Hausfeld 2 1/2 inch finish nailer, an air hose and a quick release air fitting. The compressor fills up quickly but is a little loud. I thought the oiled compressors were quieter. I had been shopping around for an affordable compressor and realized that with COSTCO's return policy that I couldn't go wrong.

An aircompressor isn't one of those must-have tools for the homeowner-that is, until you've used one. The HL5501 has plenty of power for a stapler or nailer; imagine how quickly a chair rail could go up. Because it's a smaller unit, its air delivery is lower, so make sure you check the air requirements of the tools you intend to use it with.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

8 Gallon, 15A Cast Iron AirCompressor, Oil Lube Pump With 2.
found in HL5501's reviews: Sturdy, portable, cheap oil-lubricated compressor... But noisy! -
Let me start by saying that I can't live without an aircompressor. Those of you who don't have one have no idea how much you'll use it and what an integral part of any household project or repair it will become when you finally have one. That being said, let me explain why I bought this particular compressor and what I think about it thus far.
Until recently, I had an 8-gallon oil-free compressor that was handed down to me from my dad after I bought him a large stationary garage unit about 6 years ago. This thing lasted about 13 years with very regular use with a few repairs over the years. This is absolutely unheard of with an oil-free compressor. In order to replace the blue tarp roof provided by FEMA with some actual shingles, I will need a compressor to power my roofing and framing nailers. Portability and reliability are important factors in order to assist with the reconstruction efforts of the community once the repairs to my home are complete. This is why I decided on an oil-lubricated compressor. Although I had great success with the aforementioned oil-free compressor, I do understand that this was more the exception than the rule. It is hard to find an oil-lubed compressor that is both portable and affordable., making them very difficult to get in and out of your truck/car by yourself, let alone getting them up a flight of stairs. This compressor does not come with oil, even though the instruction manual says "only use the oil that was shipped with the compressor." The other thing that you will run into is that it does not come with a coupler to connect an air hose to. Although this is very common for air tools not to come with the required fittings to connect it to a hose, there is one difference here. I have never seen a quick-disconnect air hose connector (the hose end that has the sleeve to release the connection) with male threads on it. (a brass pipe nipple for you plumbers out there)
Use: The Campbell Hausfeld HL5501 overall seems to be a very good compressor. If you are looking into this compressor because of the reduced noise level that oil-lubed compressors are known for, then you will be disappointed. This compressor is every bit as loud as any comparable oil-free unit.
Conclusion: I would recommend this compressor to the handy home user that wants the reliability and longevity of an oil-lube compressor, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money. I would not recommend this compressor if the noise level is a big issue, but be prepared to spend a lot more money for a belt-driven unit.
Accessories are included for convenient use right out of the box. Compressor offers automatic shut-off feature. Bonus nailer kit is included with a 2 in 1 1-1/4" brad nailer and 1-1/4" stapler. The sturdy handle allows for comfortable handling and simple storage. 1 Gallon tank offers additional stored air capacity. Tank eliminates pulsations caused by piston action.
2-gallon tank adds greater stored air capacity Up to 50% quieter than competitive models for a more comfortable work environment On-board accessory storage keeps small accessories organized and readily available Hose management system keeps hose coiled when not in use for easy transportation and compact storage Using the included hardware, the compressor can be wall-mounted freeing up valuable work space

found in MAC700's reviews: Great compressor, but check the box thouroughly before signing for delivery! - After working with a friend's older version of this compressor for the last eight months, I decided to splurge and get my own. If this compressor is anything like the older model, it's going to last forever. It looks like someone must've dropped it, and from a pretty good height! One of the legs was bent about 2 inches, so the compressor would rock when set down. Fortunately, the compressor itself (external tubes and gauges and whatnot) are all fine. It's annoying, but I don't want to go through the exchange process and be without air for another two weeks.
The startup process is fairly simple. There are two plastic plugs on the compressor that need to come out. One covers the oil filler, and one covers the air intake port. You replace the plug on the air intake port (topmost plug) with the included air filter, and you replace the oil filler plug with the included oil cap. Then, open the air release valve at the very bottom of the air tank and run the compressor for 20 minutes. Check the oil level periodically, of course!
On a related note, I also bought the Campbell Hausfeld MP520010AV air tool accessory kit to get me started.

found in D55155's description: com Review
At just a foot high and less than two feet wide out of the carton, this compressor was quite a bit smaller than we expected, so to be fair, we quickly lowered our expectations. The joke was on us, though, because this little powerhouse just doesnt quit, and we learned that you cant judge a compressor by its size. Emglos half-century in the compressor business is evident in this model, and with a couple of small exceptions (well get into that in a minute), we dont think anyone could make a finer piece of air power. Now, this may be a plus or a minus in your book, but we liked the fact that the compressor is factory set to power on at 100 psi an+d shut off at 120 psi, and the cycle time was under 15 seconds.) It has air aplenty for two nailers at once, and with that fast recovery, the job will get done in no time.
In balance, this is one of the best compressors weve seen for the size, power, ruggedness and incredible portability it offers. Heres to a great pairing of two great toolmakers.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

found in D55155's reviews: DeWalt takes a classic to a new level - Last yearI spent many months researching a replacement for my ailing Campbell-Hausfeld oilless compressor. Originally I figured the CH had a higher air output, needed no oil changes, would work on slopes and start in cold weather. After forking over the big bucks and putting it to work for DeWalt's 30 Day trial period I couldn't believe I'd gone so long without this compressor. 1) First of all the Emglo name on the unit reassured me that I was getting a tool built by the industry leader with a great reputation for tough, dependable compressors. The first day on the job proved it with quick cycling times and ample air at all times. I do a lot of work in luxury high rises and I've often left the compressor at home rather than drag it down endless corridors. I've paid for the compressor already in labor savings by bringing it to every trim job. I've had othe craftsmen come over and ogle the compressor and ask questions about it, but mostly admiring it.
In short, this is a serious tool for the professional contractor with loads of power(delivered air), durability, great design and looks. My only complaint is the air release lever, an otherwise solid unit mounted on the underside of the tank. The opening is too narrow for your hand and the sharp stream of air can actually cut your skin. In addition the compressor shoots out small chunks of ICE from the tank creating dangerous projectiles that will cut your hand or riccochet into your eye. Finally, I have a compressor that won't roll around in the back of the truck knocking off gauges and connections as I drive through the city.

found in 852-1840's reviews: Does what it was made to do - They put a small compressor on it and it works fine for emergencies, but it's not meant to inflate tires all the time like a Campbell-Hausfield 10-hp dual-stage compressor with 50-gallon tank, it's an emergency convenience, and that's the point that should be remembered. If you want to run your TV, air-conditioner, hot-water heater, well pump, washer/dryer, dishwasher, home theater system, or refridgerator, then buy a gasoline powered generator instead.
One Year Warranty Convenient control panel has regulator, gauge, and two quick connect outlets Higher tank pressure provides more usable air per tank re-charge New high-pressure design keeps tank pressure between 110 and 135 PSI 3 HP induction motor delivers 7.7 SCFM at 40 PSI, 5.5 SCFM at 90 PSI
found in CPF23400S's reviews: Heavy Duty versatility - First off I am a homeowner, not a contractor and have been using this compressor in my house to do renovation trim work for over two years. It is a fantastic compressor for my purposes. I run one in to my garage for airing my tires, and one in the shop for projects. When I move the compressor in to a room I am renovating, the two outlets also let me have two tools going at the same time, i. I will tell you it is LOUD but so are all compressors in this class, and this one is not as loud as my last old Campbell-Hausfeld. So if you are planning on moving your compressor around a lot, this is the WRONG compressor for you. But if you want a relatively stationary compressor with greater than ordinary capabilities, you may agree this is the ticket.
