found in TG-400HST's reviews: Air Cube 1 - This compressor is a contractor's dream.4 CFM @ 100 PSI air delivery. This 1-1/2 foot cube gas compressor fits in the trunk of a midsize vehicle. This is the only gas power compressor that I have worked with that a single average size person can move (alone).
The 4 HP Honda engine is efficient and can operate a workday on one tank of gas. The engine optimizes fuel efficiency by automatically slowing to an ideal speed when the airtanks are full.
The engine, even while operating faster to fill the airtanks, is relatively quiet allowing a normal conversation a few feet away. It is quieter than the pancake compressors I have used.
Each airtank has a separate moisture drain valve to keep the tanks from rusting on the inside.
* The air regulator comes with two 1/4" female NPT thread connections. Since I could not remove the stripped hex plug, I used the air gage connection to add a tee.

found in PC0947's reviews: Woodworker Hobby or Trim Tool - The nailer is a quality tool that sells for $120 everywhere so that makes the compressor only $75. I had a $15 coupon so the compressor was only $60 for me. The compressor is so light that it is no problem carrying it. The tank pressure is 125 lbs and I set the tank outlet pressure to 90 lbs. I will get an air blower tip for it; so far I'm satisfied. compressor try's hard but comes up a bit short - Of course it was the compressor which broke, the part with the 90 day warranty. Senco is a good company, but I think this little compressor is not quite up to the quality of their other products. In my case it was the 1/4" copper tubing which brings the air to the tank that failed. I have fixed it with some liquid steel, since I'm on a job with it, I'm hoping the repair lasts till I have time to replace to tubing. I have used this to build two large bookcase and cabinet projects so far, and in doing so I have learned the compressors limitations. I bought this combo for the light weight of the compressor, so I guess there must be some compromises. This won't take the place of more powerful compressors, but it is great for carrying to and from a job. I'm not sure I would recommend this product, the 90 day warranty on the compressor is a big negative.

found in MAC5200's description: com Product Review
Whether you need a compressor for woodworking, painting, caulking or construction, this 5-gallon Makita is a great choice, primarily because of its impressive 6-1/2 cfm at 90 psi on a 13. Built-in Storage Compartment - Conveniently stores air fittings & accessories. Air Hose Wrap - Stores 50 of 3/8" Air Hose with handle folded or upright. Large automotive style industrial air filter for increased air intake and greater efficiency.
found in MAC5200's reviews: Worried, distressed, & troubled - Not - turned out awesome!!! - There were two minor blemishes to the paint on the tank but nothing to even be concerned with. Now to the unit - awesome!!! A container of compressor oil was included - filled the oil reserve and went to "initial startup procedure" on page 10 of owner's manual. Was somewhat confused by Step 1 - open the "air receiver's drain value". What the %^*& is a air receiver's drain value??? I know what the Drain Valve or Cock at the bottom of the tank is - but was I missing something? A fast call to Makita's service center confirmed to open drain valve on tank for the no-load break in. I think I'll be very pleased with this compressor if everything remains as positive as the initial impressions. good performer, but - I've used similar double tank units from other manufacturers and much prefer the design of this unit. And the Yamaha runs a portable DeWalt table saw, jet 1200cfm dust collector and a chop saw just fine (not all at the same time!)
So, while it is not perfect, it is a good performer and I'm very satisfied with the comressor at the cost.
Long life, contractor quality machine - rated for continuous use Low amp draw - works on 15 amp circuits and with extension cords Versatile - offers framing, roofing or finish gun capability 3/4 Horsepower - delivers 1.7 cfm at 100 psi. Lightweight and portable, only 26 pounds
found in T-635HD's description:From the Manufacturer
Thomas Industries T-635HD is a quiet running (69-decibel) 3/4 HP compressor that is both portable and versatile. Other uses include, tire inflating, painting, airbrushing, small air tools, and winterizing water lines and RV's.
found in T-635HD's reviews: Light weight professional grade compressor for small jobs - I was looking for a portable and not overly loud aircompressor, for my low air-volume tools. I had a 4-gallon pancake compressor for several years, but at 70 lbs. Although it hardly qualifies as "quiet", it isn't nearly as noisy as other compressors I've heard. I installed a 16" stainless steel braided faucet plumbing hose on the compressor's air-outlet port; routed the hose out the back under the motor support, and screwed on a quick disconnect coupling. Because the tank is only 2 gallons (to keep weight/bulk down), the pump comes on more often than on larger units, but when it does, it's only on for about 12 seconds (if you're not using air). The unit comes on when pressure drops below 100 PSI and goes off at 125 PSI. Translation: the compressor can be used continuously, without letup. Some compressors have only a 50% duty cycle, which means you shouldn't run it more than 30 minutes for every hour used, as that could cause excessive wear on the pump and/or motor.
You'd want a bigger unit if you had two roofing or stud-nailers going, but for low-air-volume requirements such as trim work, this little Thomas unit is just about perfect.
September 2006 update:
While working on a home renovation project, the compressor's low air pressure switch clicked, but the motor didn't start. By the time I got to the compressor, the motor was smoking, literally. Perhaps there was low voltage to that particular outlet in that 46-year-old house.
Heavy Duty Electric 4 Gallon Twin Stack AirCompressor, High performance direct drive oil lubricated pump, 3.2 cfm @ 100 PSI, 120V,
found in D55151BN's description:From the Manufacturer

The D55151BN includes an 18-gauge heavy-duty pneumatic brad nailer (D51238K), a 2.1 HP Continuous) 4 gallon oil lube side stack compressor (D55151), a 25 ft. vinyl air hose, fittings and pipe joint tape. The D51238K 18-gauge heavy-duty pneumatic brad nailer is equipped with many innovative features that help the user save time and money on the jobsite. The D51238K also features a tool-free front latch jam clearing mechanism that enables the user to save time by avoiding delays caused by jamming. A tool-free, 360 degree adjustable exhaust setting helps to channel air exhaust away from the user, creating a safe and comfortable working environment. The D55151 electric compressor is equipped with a 1. The compressor is designed with a durable cast iron cylinder, providing increased pump life. Designed to be sturdy yet lightweight, the compressor weighs only 53.
found in D55151BN's reviews: Poorly designed shipping configuration - The plastic shroud surrounding the compressor motor has arrived broken on me twice, I am sending it back again. By placing the plastic housing on the outside of the box with a coil of compressor cable and a sheet of cardboard to protect it. The iron compressortank should probably be on the outside. Good Compressor/Nailer combo - I bought this compressor mainly to run nailers for those jobs, as well as other around the house usage.
I had read that oil-lubed compressors were quieter and lasted longer, so I was looking for an oil-lubed motor in particular.
I was somewhat dissapointed by the amount of noise generated by the compressor. The unit I received also has something rattling around in the top tank. I'm not sure what it is yet, but it doesn't seem to affect the operation of the unit, and I didn't want to send it back for repairs, since I have a bit of a deadline on some of my jobs.
The rattling bit is the main reason for giving the compressor a 4 instead of a 5.
The compressor works very well, and I'm quite happy with it. It seems fairly well made, and all the components are pretty easy to get to if repairs are needed for some reason. At the time I bought it, Amazon was running a very nice $75 off $300 promotion, and also offering a free air hose, so I feel that I got a great deal on a very good combo.
Contractor quality machine - rated for continuous use. Lightweight and portable - only 26 lbs. Low 4 amp draw - will operate anywhere Will operate any (1) finish gun or brad nailer The quietest finish/trim compressor on the market
found in T-617HDN's description:From the Manufacturer
The super quiet (60 decibel) T-617HDN is the hands down favorite for those that want a quiet running, long life compressor capable of handling any (1) finish gun or brad nailer. Additional uses include, airbrushing, inflating tires, air mattresses, sports equipment, and winterizing RV's and motor homes.
found in T-617HDN's reviews: When Quality & Quiet Matter More Than Price & Power - I researched compressors carefully around town and on the Web. Compressors available at the Borg and various local tool shops are gawdawful loud, heavy, and look to be made of cheap plastic and pot metal. The compressor will be carried around and used indoors. The unit is light enough to carry around easily, and its shape rides comfortably beside your walking legs (unlike pancake compressors).
The compressor only puts out about 1 CFM and has a 2 gallon tank.
You will not be happy with this compressor unless your needs and preferences are similar to mine. It really doesn't put out or hold much air. No durability experience since I haven't had the compressor for long.
Three year limited warranty Cast-iron cylinder and stainless steel valves for cooler operation
Patent pending oil-lube system with ball bearing design
Direct drive, no belts or adjustments are necessary
2.5 horse power, 4-gallon oil-lube compressor
found in CPLDC2540P's reviews: Design flaws - First one of these I received came out of the box damaged beyond repair. Switch was broke, regulator fitting broken off flush with the tank, tabs on the compressor that the shroud connects to were broken off from the compressor. After about 2 hours of use (with me that translates to about 3 months) one of the tabs on the compressor that connects to the shroud has broken off. I have not moved the compressor since the day I took it from its box. It's a bit loud but not as loud as some of the "oil free" compressors are.
