A real performer, this 15-gallon air compressor allows more usable air to be stored in the tank. The high-pressure design allows for longer run time between refills - it's like being able to fit 19 gallons of air in a 15-gallon tank - so you'll get more done. The powerful induction motor and high-pressure pump deliver 8.0 scfm at 40 psi and 5.7 scfm at 90 psi. A higher flow regulator starts the pump at 110 psi and stops it at 135 psi for more pressure and airflow. The oil-free design eliminates maintenance and the possibility of oil overspray for trouble-free use, and also allows operation on slopes and angles without spillage. A cushioned grip and large wheels provide maneuverability with ease and comfort. This compressor is excellent for home shop use and moderate construction usage. Bought at Lowe's for [$$$]; I was putting in 3/4" oak flooring, crown moulding, and needed a compressor to run the nailers. I am not a pro, just a weekend warrior, and this compressor delivered the power that I needed.

UPS damaged but works fine
I will not complain about UPS' faults here as I recieved it with minor cosmetic damage.

I love this work-horse of a compressor. It does what I need, and it is quieter than my last compressor from Sears. I am not easily impressed, but I am with Porter-Cable products.

No Wonder its such a deal...
Just attempted to use it for the first time...won't hold air. A leak at the main connection between the tank and the motor...red loctite seals it, so no moving that without taking the whole thing apart. what a crock. Now I have no box (it was in shambles when it got to me anyway); so I hope I'm not SOL...Amazon help me.

This is a 1.5 HP compressor, NOT 4.5
Porter-Cable makes fine products however this compressor is grossly under-powered and should really be sold as a 1.5 HP unit. "Peak horsepower" may mean "when you first turn it on" but it means absolutely nothing once you turn on your sander, sprayer, or wrench.

Please Package it!
I have not started using it yet but it took 2 before I recieved one that was only slightly damaged. Porter Cable packaging is meant for shipping via pallet not dropping it into any parcel delivery service. Amazon needs to package this in a padded box before shipping.
